Now that I have my L7 working again, how can I use it on an airplane without having the stewardesses yell at me? How do I disable the radio so that it is not searching for a network? I was trying to edit the seem (which is what jacked up the phone in the first place) but that did not work. The whole point of getting the slvr was so that when I traveled I could leave my ipod at home

There is this seem edit:
add "AirplaneMod" for Airplane Mode to the menu
then edit SEEM 0032_0001
offset 85 - bit 6: Airplane Mode Lock (1 on, 0 off) (menu item, may require update to mma files)
Also, MOVED TO L7!
EDIT:
cash7c3 says:
that dont work
um no says:
well i am not the l7 man..man
cash7c3 says:
course
cash7c3 says:
that does work
cash7c3 says:
on a cingy phone
cash7c3 says:
but it already has airplane mode

No, it is an unlocked/ Unbranded TIM model from Italy I think. Got it from Ebay. I was trying to do that seem edit thing and ran into all sorts of problems, which are now fixed. But I am not sure if I want to get into that seem edit deal again. After all I am still a newbie here.
What's the firmware on that?

Really, well that sucks. I was hoping I could leave the Ipod at home when I travel. Any other way of turning the Radio off? I guess I am asking for Ariplane Mode without asking for it. I am really reaching, thats all?

You can flash the cingular's flex on your phone... but I doubt that would make Airplane Mode work even if you have the icon... It's like PTT...

I don't think that turns off the radios on the phone.. If the phone says Emergency Only as the carrier, then you could still make the plane crash.

Really, this is interesting. I am no expert and certainly not criticizing any one on here because you guys do tremendous things here. but with all the talent and brain power no one has figured out how to enable Airplane/ Flight Mode? Maybe it hasn't been a priority but if anyone figures it out, I for one would be grateful. I am just a dumb smuck when it comes to stuff like this.
Last question, if I flash a stock cingular files to my phone, will it lock it to cingular. I am running Yuet's 1.8 MP for 4513, currently and loving it.

You can't flash the Cingular f/w (R4517) onto your R4513 phone.
R4517 and r4513 are NOT compatible.
