Recognizing the memory card

Anyone have any idea why I cannot see the memory card in p2k commander?
Shouldn't it show up as a removable drive?

All I see is a/motorola/shared/{audio-video-pictures-ringtones.**
and when I upload to these diretories, the files use the phones memory, not the card.

The only way P2k commander will see it as a removable drive is if you select it in the drop down list. You will not see the card as part of the phones file system.

Drop down menu only shows the phone, my hard drive, and my cd rom. No other menus.

Ok, maybe the card needs to be formatted? I put the card in my laptop, then windows prompts "card needs to be formatted, format now?" and then " card cannot be formatted"
Why is that?
Is there a way to format the card in the phone? or a mod that will fox this?

If you want to see the memory card in p2k commander, go to options and click the radio button next to "/b - Transflash card" then hit refresh next to the drop down box.

ok, p2k commander still does not see the mem card. MPT however does, but cannot transfer anything to the card, error report: "Request Denied By Phone (Internal Server Error 0 x 50)
I have done both seem edits, 2742 and 2827 and the settings are saved to phone. I do not get this.

Ok, I am posting a log of the situation I am currently experiencing. To me, it makes absolutely no sense.

P2K Commander: Ringtones transfer to phone fine amd can be utilized and set as contact id's. Pictures also transfer to phone perfectly. Videos-Havent tried. As posted earlier, the Sandisc Transflash Card is not picked up by the ap. Tried Nevar Death's suggestion, and for some reason, the drop down menu does not show the device.

MPT: Ringtones transfer in melody studio perfectly, Pictures in image studio transfer perfectly, However in File Transfer Studio- Nothing Transfers. I get the error: "Request Denied By Phone- Internal Server Error (0 x 50)"
Memory card is recognized, but again the only way to access it is in file transfer studio where I get the error.

WMP10 and 11- Not able to sync at all and drivers get screwed up. Says no device is connected. Meanwhile the phone is hooked up and recognized as motorola modem in control panel.
After trying to sync, I need to do a clean and re-install with the motorola driver utility.

So thats where I am at, still trying. I just feel I maybe missed an edit because this is working 50% Thanx for all the help.

Here we go, Bitpim worked! Reads the mem card and transferred the mp3 succesfully. Bravo. Wait, theres a catch. Now the mp3 is on the card, in the phone, however...... NO OPTION TO PLAY THE SONG!!!! just erase, and move. I can move the file to the phone, and still have no option to play it. Almost there.

that seems to be the main problem with the L7c and K1m...I'm going to have to research this....

Ohh yeah, when you do the thing in p2k commander with the b drive, it doesn't show in the drop down...After selecting the b drive in the options, just select p2k mobile phone and it'll load the mem card

Ok my bad, I found the song in the vcast/songs library. I was trying to access it directly from the card. So thats fixed now, (i also deleted the mytone.db file) but I dont know if that did it. I will try another mp3.

Now as far as commander, tried your suggestion and still no card. I am now thinking its the version. I am using: v3.3.0-Build date 2006.01.30.

I'm pretty sure that V3.3.0 has no support for accessing the TF card. If you want to do that you have to use version 4. And version 4 doesn't work with my L7c...

Tanks man, with that version I see the transflash in the dropdown menu, but when I refresh it, it only loads files from the A/. In other words, options- set to b/transflash, and dropdown-select the b/transflash, but it I can only copy files to the a/motorola/shared folders, nowhere can I copy to the card.

Is there a way to write files to the card directly from the pc? I ask because, when my tf card is in the pc, I cannot access it. The pc sees the card, but I cannot write because windows prompts me to format it, then it says the card cannot be formatted. So, is there a specific card reader/program I could use? Or is it only recommended to copy to the card when the card is in the phone. It just takes too long that way.
