I would like to be able to temporarily disable 3G as I tend to lose coverage in fringe areas. Does anyone know if this can be done? How does one access the engineering menu? Thanks in advance!

just got to settings->network, should be an option to choose the band you want to run on

I wish that it was that easy. At present the V3xx is only available through Cingular. There are no options available under network that allow one to change bands. Cingular, in their infinite wisdom has chosen to handle all those settings automatically.

What about seem editing to turn it off? Is there a seem that contains 3G that could be switched to off?

You can go to call settings and disable "use gprs" can't you? and in the browser settings too, and the message settings. Pretty sure they ll have the setting, i have have had 2 different att v3xx/v3xxr's, and both had that.

I have a AT&T v3xx R26111MLD but stock firmware doesn't have the option for disabling G3, but I flashed it with the Black Widow MP and got the option working, now I just go to Network>Network Setup>
