.:Adapt games to RIZR Z8:.

Z8 is the first uiq phone from world that doesn't have the touchscreen option and for this reason a lot of games doesn't work corectly on Z8.

So i decided to make a guide how to adapt those games to work on RIZR Z8;)

Necessary files

> RIZR z8 ini file (attached on this post)

> JAM EE 1.0 [Download] (http://www.4shared.com/file/42675119/708db14b/jam_EE.html)

How to adapt?

> Install JAM EE after install go into the folder where did u install and copy the ini files for Z8

> Open program click "choose jar" and the press "open" should look like this now

> I f you don't receive any error you can proceed next

> Go to "Main Options" and in "Canvas" choose "canvas clasic (Motorola Z8)"

> Go to "display" choose the resolution to 240x320 and also check the 2 boxes "Set FullScreen=True" and "Change resolution of the pictures (Proportionally)

> Go to "keyboard" and choose for "phone keys" the "MotorolaZ8/Z10"

> Go back to "Status" and press "Adapt Jar" and now install it to your phone and enjoy

Dont work for me.

No real soft key worked, left or right.

i tried it and right or down buttons functioned as left soft key, and nothing worked for right soft key

im using the last firmware from this forum with english, deutch and russian language

Could you please help me.

yes i put ini file in jam directory and in map subdirectory

and did all the stuff in top post.

can you send me any jar file you modded in witch i can test the soft keys.

If that file would work i would know that i did adapting wrong. But if that jar file dont work for me that would mean that problem is in my phone.

Send me any jar file you adapted and worked for your motorola z8

IM sorry for my mistake. I understand that warez is forbitten. I asked if you can send me any jar file, some free aplication, free game or something. I did not mentioned full games.

i solved the problem

my problem was that i convert files from games for v3x and e1000.

In keyboard optiones i choose FROM Exxx. That was wrong.

I changed it to V3x and it works.

I have followed all the steps in the tutorial but i'm having the same problems :s

The soft keys never work in none of the games i tried adapting it. The main reason probably is that i have no clue what the "keys used in the app" setting should be :s
I tried Motorola MPx setting and other Motorola settings but none of them seem to make my soft keys work, which is very annoying because I cannot go to menu in games and save or quit for example.

Any help?

u need to select the right key from the game you want to adapt...

for ex if the game you are trying to adapt is for v3x you need to choose there the v3x keys and will work

Wel now i specifically looked for V3x java games to adapt and its still the same. I entered in phone keys: motorola Z8/Z10 and Motorola E2/E6/Z6/V3x/Axxxx/Ux into the keys used in the app part. I adapted it, installed it.

I used god of war game to test: after the language selection it asks me to enable sounds and i have to confirm with soft keys and they don't respond, no other key works either so all i can do is quit :(

I really don't understand it because i have tried numerous options in the java adapter, none of them have worked so far. :s

just follow the guide and you should be fine like me and others users;)

make sure you copy the ini file provided and also select from what key phone you adapt the games

Sorry but I need to know what kind of file can be adapt to z8 for example I have a game for sone ericsson P1i its 50 mb I know that Z8 ram and rom can suport it but soft key can not work in to it . its sis file. say me which file in wich size and which phone can adapt to motorizr Z8 ???????:shots:

Only java files can be adapted using this mehod. And not even that is a sure thing.

1. Works only with Java-Games
2. You have to know for which phone the games are created (Nokia, SE, Samsung...)
- and you have to choose this phone under "Keyboard/Keys used in the app" in Java Adapter
3. Use the Motorola Z8.ini file you downloaded via second link; not the one which came with the Java Adapter - they are different. Copy the ini file into the folder "map".
4. Choose Canvas Motorola Classic Z8 under "Main options/Use Canvas during adaption"
5. If you don´t know the phone the game was written for - choose another model under "Keys used in the app". (Try and error)
6. Follow the instructions given in the first thread.
7. The app doesn´t work for .sis games, and not for all Java-Games (because of different Symbian-Versions (most UIQ3 Games work; no 40rd or 60rd Versions -Java-Exception...Midlet-Errors...).

I often use this tool, and it works. For example many Games for Nokia (N95..) i´ve "imported" successfully - with working keys. [Bomb Jack, Boulder Dash, Dragon Island, Platinum Sudoku, Jewel Quest, Lemmings return, Prince of Persia 3 .....

After you´ve installed the program Java adapter - let´s say to path C:\program files\java adapter - you should find in the folder java adapter 6 further folders, the folder map is one of them (c:\program files\java adapter\map).
To "install" the ini file, you´ve just to copy it inside the folder map.
The existing ini file (the identical named one) in this folder could be renamed before or you delete/overwrite it.

yes you can, in the menu /display you can /change the resolution/
