View Full Version : Maxx starts to hang....

Guys, I've been experiencing something over the past couple of days that I've never seen before. I got my replacement Maxx the other day and so I've been flashing like crazy, checking out different skins and seem edits etc......you get what I mean.

Anyway, I'm finding that occasionally my Maxx will start "hanging" when it's trying to load certain menus eg. phonebook, games and apps, personalise etc etc. It'll just sit there ticking over saying "Loading" but doesn't do anything. Sure, I can press the red power down button to cancel the action but this doesn't fix the problem. I've tried rebooting, master reset, master clear, flashing flex backups etc but the only thing that fixes the problem is flashing an MP.

Has anyone else experienced this problem, or know what's wrong? (and perhaps know how to avoid/fix it permanently)

Cheers
MC

Have been experimenting some more and trying to find out when this problem kicks in after flashing an MP. It ONLY occurs after flashing MotoPioneer's Calibri font.

Here's what I did:
1) Flash MP using RSD Lite 3.4 (no problems)
2) Flash a couple of new skins using RSD Lite 3.4 (no problems)
3) Delete some older skins to clear some memory using P2K Commander 4.9.3 (no problems)
4) Flash Calibri font (problem starts)

Anyone have any ideas? Of course, I could simply not bother about flashing the font but I'd rather find out what's going on.

try flashing your original font back on it

It did that to me as well, the only way to fix the problem was a clean flash and not to install that font. I don't know why but that's about it....

Can you confirm that the problem was that exact font?? (Calibri) That's nasty. I've flashed that font dozens of times with my past 3 Maxxes with no problems whatsoever. I wonder what's different about my new Maxx?

@MotoPioneer: are you lurking around? Have you heard of anyone else having problems with your font?

Yes it was that exact font, given that's the only font I've seen for the maxx (or at least the only sweet one). The last time I tried to install that font was a while back, but I do believe it only hung up while using the telstra branded flash. Using the unlocked and unbranded flash I swear I remember it not hanging. But to answer your question, yes for sure it was that font.

Thanks man. I've just realised that I've always used one of the Italian flexes 'cause their embedded games are better. But I'd decided to start using the Aussie flex again because it has both WCDMA 850 and 2100 as opposed to the other international versions. This would explain why I've never had this Calibri problem till now!!

By the way, there are quite a few fonts available on one of the Italian forums (but I'm not sure of the rules here about posting links to other forums). I've got at least 12 different Maxx fonts that are pretty decent
