That is really confusing... I just want a new skin is there a place I can go or something like a store that can do this for me.

I just bought the Razr vt3 and the skins that came with it were horrific, i just thought there was a way to like download one like a ringtone or game.... am I wrong about this or am I stuck with the 3 that come with it?

Anyone??:wtf:

DigitalRemix,

The above link is for editing the menu, How To: Correctly Use MMA Converter, not for adding "skins"..

Look in the guide section for info on adding skins. Skins are easy to add. It's when you're modifying the menu for 12 icons (icons) that more work is involved, patching the skins so the 12 icons display correctly.

Skins themselves should be a simple matter. It's just about like adding a game, ringtone.

Alright I downloaded the Skins Manager and found the guide to follow, but the problem is I start up Skins Manager and then plug in my phone like the guide tells me to but its like the Skin Manager doesn't pick up my phone... like its not there.

So I cant install the skin it just sits in the ready position on the Skin Manager why is this happening, and what am I doing wrong so that the Skin Manager is not picking up my phone, I cant click the Install button its shaded grey.

Also if it picked up my phone it would have the moto skin pop up in the list but nothing happens at all what am I doing wrong.

Right now I'm fighting to modify the memu, (9-icons)... will do the 12 icons later.

By just removing the Voice Note icon (after removing the branding links) and replacing it with anything... the revised menu is all screwed up... It's got a Games icon that wasn't there before, a "extra's" icon, which has IM and Multimedia in it, which should be MultiMedia...

And more importantly under connections, in which it had a Bluetooth and USB settings icon, the USB icon has disappeared, it being replaced with "Active Call", and when you click on that it rolls you over to the Alarm Clock...

I'm thinking maybe the reason you can't connect is because your USB setting is set to Storage Device? Instead of Data/Fax connection?

Q: When you plug the phone in, does it say something about being accessed as a storage device, all files mught not be accessible?

I'm guessing you haven't installed your drivers yet, you need to follow the Get Connected (http://www.modmymoto.com/guides/slvr/getconnectednew.php) tutorial.

Alright, I downloaded the Motorolla Driver Crap, the only problem is when I plugged in my phone when I was following the guide "Get Connected", nothing else happend... so once again im stuck.

I've changed the connection to Data like you said... eh

Why is this so difficult... Im very confused all I want to do is change my skin.... there are 3 lame ones on the phone and a new skin is all I want.

9.<!--[endif]-->Now plug in your phone, Windows should detect it and automatically install the drivers for the “Motorola USB Modem”

Step 9 states that it should detect it automatically but it hasnt, now what.

Don't worry, the initial installing of the drivers are the most frustrating part of modding. :D Well... for the initial bit, that is.

Try now starting it up in boot loader mode (hold down * and # while powering the phone on) and see if Windows finds any new devices. You should be good to go.

Don't worry, you're almost there.

The skin doesn't change the battery meter graphic. You need to install a DRM for that. Check this thread (http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14141) for 12 icon menu info.

What programs would I need to do this, Is there a way to get 12 Icons on the V3t menu screen?? Can I change the Icons I have?

Can I get a link to the required guides that I need for the programs and steps to follow to get more creative with my phone.

For putting on DRM's, you just flash (http://www.modmymoto.com/guides/v3i/flashingflexing.php) them.

For 2 icons, you need a custom mma_ucp (http://www.modmymoto.com/guides/slvr/12iconmenu.php).

Reload at least the Moto skin (mine was called Alkali), your phone has to have that one you can't delete it! I believe it is in the zip attached.
