Anyone having probs using Opera Mini?
I think it's because T-Mo is locking down everything...

Aha! I was wondering why the crap my Opera Mini wasn't working. I thought I screwed up my phone or something and it turns out now it's not just me. Heh damn.

OperaMini are left high and dry. Would anyone care to speculate if this move is
likely to retain or repel customers?"
NOOO!!! My gmail app still works though... strange. When I start up Opera Mini it keeps telling me to press buttons for random data. Then when it's done it just stays glued on that screen like it's frozen. Is this the same issue everyone else is having?

This fix worked for me. I searched all over the place for a solution. And it has Opera working for my V3t again !!!!!
1. Install P2KMan and XVI32
2. Connect your phone
3. Run P2KMan
4. Click Update list
5. In the "Download seem" field, put 0032 in the from field and 0001 in the to field.
6. Press "download seem."
7. Save it to a folder.
8. I would then recommend copying the file and saving it somewhere else safe as a backup.
9. Close P2KMan.
10. Open XVI32.
11. Open the 0032_0001.seem file you saved.
12. The status bar at the bottom of the screen tells you where the offsets are. "Adr. Hex" is the same as the hex offset. Click around until you find offset 2F.
13. Under the tools menu, select "bit manipulation." It will pull up a window of the bits in that offset. Bit 1 will be unchecked. Check it.
14. Click "set."
15. Now save the file as 0032_0001.seem.
16. Finally, open P2KMan again and make sure you are connected to your phone.
17. This time, go to the "upload seem" area.
18. Put 0032 in the from field and 0001 in the to field. Click "upload seem." It will ask you where the file is. Browse to where you saved your edited file. At the bottom left, you will see "uploading seem N 0032record N 0001 ok" which means it worked.
19. Last, click "restart phone" from the button in P2KMan.
Now the Web Sessions menu should be on your phone.
The seem edit is as follows
0032_0001: offset 2F: bit 1: WebAccess > Web Sessions Menu (1 on, 0 off)
I rebooted the phone and I had the missing menu. Success!
Then I added a java session as follows.
Name: Java Session
Homepage: http://wap.myvoicestream.com
Service Type 1: WAP
Proxy1: 216.155.165.050
Port 1: 9201
Domain 1: (leave blank)
Service Type 2: HTTP
Proxy 2: 216.155.165.050
Port 2: 8080
Domain 2: (blank)
DNS 1: 000.000.000.000
DNS 2: 000.000.000.000
Timeout: 5 minutes
CSD No 1: (blank)
User Name 1: (blank)
Password 1: (blank)
Speed (Bps) 1: 14400
Line Type 1: ISDN
CSD No 2: (blank)
User Name 2: (blank)
Password 2: (blank)
Speed (Bps) 2: 14400
Line Type 2: ISDN
GPRS APN: wap.voicestream.com
User Name: (blank)
Password: (blank)
Then set that to be the default, and I was online with Opera Mini, and Mgmaps then worked as well.

mumra06,
Good post... lots of info there... HOPE is continues to work for you...(really)
That being said...
Where are you? I ask because in several other threads people are talking about it not working... then it may come back up... then go back down..
It appears that T-Mo is re-vamping, locking things down.. this screenshot for the sda,mda,dash...and a small number of data devices as T-Mo puts it.
BTW what service plan do you have????

Hey there.
It will become obvious that I am the father of all noobs when it comes to modding. I'm in Texas and have had my V3t since Feb 3rd. I did the upgrade from the V360. I had downloaded opera mini just a few days before the 'crack down'. When I noticed that it had stopped working, I hunted for a solution and found the info that I had posted. I tried it out and I could connect without difficulty. As for service plan, I was messing around on T-web (?) and it told me that I can add unlimited internet usage for 5.99. I agreed and got a text message the next morning saying that my account had been updated and the new features I had requested are active.
Is there anywhere I can find the 'stock' funlight.pat file for the V3t? I like a NOOB didn't back it up when I uploaded a modded one.

I appreciate the file. Now if only I can figure out how to get the charge light to operate.

Just an FYI, I live in So Cal with my V3t and have had no problems with opera mini yet. My coverage is so lousy maybe they think it won't be a problem?

I just read somewhere, and this may be related to the MDA/SDA/Dash type devices more so that T-Mo was back pedaling on some of the "security" changes they have been making, it being reported paying customers were being adversely affected...
