View Full Version : What's different about the MotoSLVR L71?

Hi I'm new to the world of L7. I just picked up a MotoSLVR L71. Very nice sound quality.

I can't find any information on modding the L71. Can anyone tell me if this phone is very different from the L7? The firmware info on my phone is:
S/W: R452D_G_08.02.06R
Flex: GSTL71T678MV084

What tools would work best for modding (so far I've tried moto4lin, but couldn't connect)?

so you are using a Mac and not a PC?

Hi, at first I tried moto4lin on the Mac and now I'm trying Motorola Phone Tools on the PC. I'll be happy with MPT for now, if I can just get my calendar and contacts in sync with Outlook. Then I can get into the modding later.

But, MPT is giving me some problems. I set the phone up as a L7e, since no L71 option was provided. The device is recognized and some syncing is happening... but I've encountered two problems: 1) the start time of some datebook events on the phone are 3 hours later (even though the phone and computer are set to the same time zone); 2) the sync seems to take a very, very, very long time to finish (the window says that the records are complete but the sync process itself just doesn't finish, so I have to cancel on the phone).

Is MPT reliable for syncing? Anything else I should try for syncing with Outlook?
