MMA Advanced Editor BE CAREFUL!!

So I bricked my phone last night simply by pressing the restart button on MMA advanced editor 0.6. Now the phone gets stuck on the at&t startup and will not go any further. What did I do wrong? Maybe pulled out the cord before it was finished rebooting? Or is it just not supported yet?

Remove the SIM card and turn on the phone, then check if it ask for the SIM, if it does your phone is fine, if not, ,maybe a back up will be what you need.
Try to use another SIM card to see if the phone responds.

That happened to me, in 2 phones i tried to unlock and entered the code wrong 3 times.. But with a AT&T Sim works fine

Well I did remove the sim but I always put it back in before I rebooted. Are you saying that if I left the sim out it will ask for the sim then I put the sim in and it wil work?

I returned it today anyway but I highly doubt another sim would make any difference. What do I care if it works with my brothers tmobile sim anyway, I need it to work on at&t.

It sounds to me like you need to reflash your phone. It is getting stuck at the start up screen because of something that you did. Are you able to get into boot loader mode? Because if you are able to get into boot loader mode, then your phone is just dandy. You just need a reflash, which is what I am waiting for. >.< But if your able to take it into AT&T they might or might not give you another one. It depends on who you talk to, because some of them might know your messing around with the phone, and not give you another one, or someone new might just give you another one, and think it is a bad phone.

Long story short, boot loader mode = okay phone. You just need a reflash. No boot loader mode = oh noes.

Putting another sim in the phone is going to do absolutely nothing when he is unable to get the phone fully loaded.

Load the phone in bootloader and try running Motorola Software Update over it.

As I said I already returned it.

I just wanted to warn people that all I did was press restart on MMA Avanced editor 0.6(same thing I've always done on countless motos with no problem) and the phone froze up like this and was unable to start up. I guess the Z9 is just not compatible with this program yet which really sucks because to me it is probably the most important of all the modding programs.

Anybody successfully changed it? It seems to me there is some difference in it, making all tools incompatible with it.

Not sure if this counts but I unlocked the softkeys on my Z9 by using P2K Commander 4.9.E and XVI32.

Whenever I try to use P2k Commander, I get 'Zero space recieved', I can edit just seems. How did you make your way to mma_ucp?

I had the same problem when I clicked on a/. So I just clicked on reread and it booted up. You'll see the files load up regardless of what the status says.

That said, P2K commander is working fine for seem edits but must be jerry rigged or tricked into accessing the filesystem. I do it by selecting "aP2K seems" and then switching over to "aP2k file system". If I try to go right to the filesystem it will not read it correctly.

Sure enough I messed up another Z9, DO NOT USE mma advanced editor with the Z9, it is not at all compatible. Lickily was able to fix my Z9 but it is really a shame it dosent work with the Z9.

I want to be able to customize my menu's. Maybe replace the gps icon with "tools" for example. There are alot of things that can be done with mma advanced editor like making a 12 icon menu, placing java apps. in the main menu etc.

The newest generation of V9 and probably Z9 also have some changes in mma files (4th mma file). Same symptoms here (reflashed it). Looks like all that is possible is just unlocking softkeys.

It is really lame! Until I can use MMA Advanced Editor. Modding on the Z9 is just extremely limited.
