--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am trying to follow the instructions on the get connected page.

But alas, it tells me to install the UID program. Which I do. But the instructions show a subfolder with the drivers, under the UID folder.

When I installed the UID, there is no such subfolder. (This was for the UID 2.2, the latest version. The older version does have the subfolder, and I did install those drivers later.)

I also did download some drivers from Motorola, but even with them the phone doesn't show up as a drive on my XP system.

What to do? I am trying to set up the phone as a drive on my system so that I can load pictures, music, etc, rather than use it as a modem.

When I run the UID program, it does recognize the phone, but I am not clear from the instructions what to do with the info it provides. When I then run the P2K program it says I don't have a phone connected, even though I follow the instructions explicitly. I also tried the later Leader GL program but it is in a foreign language, even when I set the installation for English (the english setting does make the setup instructions use English, but not program itself.)

I am thinking maybe none of the programs support the Sprint version.
Does anyone have any input on this?

Also, are there any helpful instructions on how to use the SD card to add ringers, and pictures for recognizing callers. That is, will the phone simply recognize those files or do I have to move them to the phone, and if so, how to do it. So, I am looking for an instruction manual... Sprint's or Moto's Sprint manual says nothing at all about this subject.

I have two questions for you:
1) On your phone, can you go to "Settings > Connection > USB"?? Or maybe connection is on the main menu?
2) What version of windows do you have specifically? Like Service pack 1 or 2?

Run Motorola Software Update in the background and you should have no problems. MPT will work correctly also when both the phone and MPT are updated to current FW.

When I was installing mine, I never could get the Motorola Software Update to run properly, and I was forced to find another way to get it to connect. By the way, I never ran UID or another program while trying to connect to my phone and it works fine.

There are different ways to do it, but that is the only one someone was able to describe step by step and get accurate results with
