I just got a Motorola Z8. I remember seeing spec sheets not too long ago on official Motorola sites that state the maximum capacity as "4 GB (32 GB max when available)".
So I went ahead and got an 8GB microSD card. When I try to use the phones built-in card formatting utility, it gets to 99% pretty quickly and then just stops. The whole phone doesn't freeze, but no mor formatting progress is made. If I select 'Stop' then the card is corrupt and I can't use it.
Does anyone know anything about this? For now, I'm going to leave it for a long while and just see if it successfully completes after a long time.
I could format it with my PC, but I heard that formatting it with the phone allows the phone to read it faster.
Anyways, now when I look on Motorola sites, I can no longer find anything referring to the 32GB capacity.
So it actually worked just fine. It just takes a super long time and drains a lot of the battery in the process.
Unfortunately, I have no idea how long it takes. I just left it for several hours, and when I checked it again, it had completed successfully.
