If you just want your verizon phone to connect to Motorola Phone Tools (MPT) for ringtones and wallpaper, here's how to make it work:
First follow the Getting connected to your PC guide and install MPT. In order to get MPT to recognize your phone, do this seem edit first:
Quote:
seem 2742 Offset 6A Bit 0 check to enable
If it still won't connect, then do this one as well
Quote:
Seem 2827, Record 1, Bytes (h) 22, Offset 0006 check the boxes for bits 0-2-3-6 and uncheck the boxes for Bits 1-4-5-7
Then it'll connect!
You can read more, look for nevardeath's post on this page for guides to the k1m. Also, be sure you install the driver utility to get a stable connection to the pc. See the enclosed:
Firstly, you may need to do a complete re-installation of the drivers to be sure of getting stable operation. To delete the existing driver setup, with the KRZR connected to USB and the phone recognised (I realise this may take a number of attempts), go to Windows Control Panel - System. Select the Hardware tab then choose Device Manager. If the handset is correctly recognised, it should appear as a Motorola USB Modem or similar description. Right-click the entry and choose "Uninstall". Repeat this process for as many USB ports as it has been connected to, as driver installation is on a per-port basis. When complete, disconnect the handset and restart the PC.
When this is done, you need to run the Motorola USB Driver Installer if you have not previously done so. Go to the MOTODEV web site, and at http://developer.motorola.com/docstools/USB_Drivers/ download the Handset USB Driver for Windows. Save the package on your PC, unzip it then run the .msi installation file. After this is complete, you will have a new entry for the Motorola USB Driver Installer in your Start - All Programs menu.
Run the Motorola Driver Installer.exe; after it has done its Clean phase, run a Clean & Re-Install. once this is complete, you should be able to connect the phone with it being reliably recognised. This is all you need to do if you only need to enable serial connection between the phone and your PC.
Let us know your progress.

You shouldn't have to do the seem edits listed at the beginning of haytr's post for the us cellular krzr, but everything else should work, yes
