Did you guys have any troubles with FB3? I got a few backups that did not compress into one .shx or one of the multiple FB3 archives. They stayed all split up into CG's.

I started my phone in bootloader, then unchecked the "cut empty bytes" and now I have complete backups. I haven't flashed any back to the phone to verify they work because of my earlier problems.

Running Vista 32 and FB 3.0.7

I am new to this forum, but found it the best resource for Z9 and other moto phones. Thanks for everybody's input into the forum.

I just managed to brick my Z9 using P2Ktools 3.08. A slight change in the Menu section caused it. Tried to be extra careful, but no luck. The phone is resting at the AT&T logo screen, P2KCommander tells me "at+mode=8.. ..->COM29. Switch to AT mode, I get "USB: IO Time-out". Switching the setting to COM29 doesn't help either.

Looks like no tool is able to access the set, F&B cannot connect to the phone. Looks like I am on my way to the AT&T store....

Love the phone, hate the carriers and the way it is locked down. My guess it will take some serious re-writing of the j2me_domain_registry.sm code before the GPS can be unlocked. The 3rd party application data access nag is terrible.

I hope you can revive your phone! I have not messed with the mma files since many others have had the same experience as stated in this thread (http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134911). Maybe you can unlock the key, and find out what is causing this.

Has anyone tried to unlock the java files, and used the phone to delete GPS or something that is locked in to the menu? I wonder if the same lock up problem has happened?

rjl114, Download Z9 F&B profile from here (http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=10121) & unzip it. Now go to the following directory. Mycomputer>Local disk>program files>Motorola Tools> Flash & backup 3. Now open the unzipped folder & copy the R63312_Z9 prof into the profiles folder & the R63312 (05F3).ldr into the loaders folder. Open up F&B again and select Razr Z9 profile.

^ Your welcome. I dont have a modded audio_cfg file for Z9 maybe you can do it yourself or maybe one of the other Z9 users can upload theres if they have done it. :thumbsup:

In the process of doing my first seem edit for v9. I downloaded the editor and p2k commander but am lost at where to start. I can't even figure out how to connect the phone cause Im suck a n00b. Is there a seem editing tutorial somewhere I can reference? I have the criterion for the edit I want to do (disable 300k limit for ringtones) but am useless at operation the software.

i had the same prob...but u can use RSD lite , go to bootloader mode and flash z9 firmware
