while i wait for my new V6 MAXX i just went to the grocery store to buy some beer and a talking phone... for 39 euro i am the proud owner of this really cool talking Motorola F3 (it asked me what i wanted to do when i put the battery in) LOL i have my V3i and one of my V3's next to it so you can see how small it really is...:thumbsup:
This phone has 7 polyphonic ring tones (maybe carrier specific?), it talks, has a alarm, speed dial and phonebook.
The black and white screen is not as good as they say, i can't use it outside in the sun... i hate to text with it as it only shows 4 or 5 characters at once.... you need to scroll sideways to read the whole text... only thing i like about it is when it ask you: if you want to delete the message at the end... LOL
It's made out of a rubbery plastic (feels really cheap but i guess thats why you only pay a few bucks for it), the plastic (metal like) 4 way keypad feels much to smooth and the white plastic points are to sharp... they start to annoy my thump really quick.
It has no skins, no wallpapers, no nothing... there's no mini usb and i am not sure if you can in anyway change the ringtones... btw the ringtones sound really annoying and the voice of the talking menu is to soft...
there are no menu's on this phone, you just do what you need to do... i like the idea but it's not done right i.m.o.
for advance settings (there are 13 :D ) you need to press ***[number code]*^ (for instance ***520*^ to change language).
these are all the advance (and only) setting on the phone:
Change language
Select time format (12/24 hr)
Set voicemail #
Voice prompts (on/off)
Keypad tones (on/off)
Prepaid balance display (on/off)*
Auto keypad lock (on/off)
Set SIM pin
SIM pin (on/off)
Reset factory settings
Restrict calling (phonebook only) (on/off)
Set balance inquiry # to #*
* if supported by your service provider
do i like it?
NO..!
i like the idea behind this phone but i think it's not done well, it should be easy to use, but i find it distracting and with only a few characters displayed i think it SUCKS big time to text... still though.... i got one and most of you don't LMAO:p:p:p
