I'm looking for a Canadian supplier of these parts http://cnn.cn/shop/motorola-razr-lens-p-376.html as well as any other v3 accessories. I haven't had much luck, and I know that customs will nail me like $40 for a $3 screen... LOL! Any help?

oh, and in an effort to be happy and sunshiney (because no one wants any sort of hatred online, GASP! :P), take note that I wasn't slamming you, just poking a little humour. :) No harm no foul.
Still doesn't affect that I don't want to pay $15, $20, $50 for a $3 item...

Customs will nail you, esp from Japan or China...but if it was sent from the US non-commercially, would they still stick it to you?

yep. with my craft, I have everything sent personally (non-commercial), and I ALWAYS get screwed... I once had to pay $43 on a $7 package. DECLARED and ACTUALLY valued at $7... And there's NOTHING I could do to contest it.
I ordered a replacement keypad from cnn.cn and I didn't have to pay any customs. Vancouver, BC btw.

Ok, ok... I get it. :P I guess I'll just suck it up and see if cnn.cn is any different from every other US supplier to me (by way of Customs). Let you know what happens...

When it comes from the US, things are pretty simple. They aren't supposed to touch anything with a value under $20 Canadian, or (if it's declared as a gift) $60 Canadian. Avoid UPS Ground like the plague, since they like to double-charge shipping (on both ends!), and add a bogus customs-clearing charge to boot. USPS Priority Air has worked wonders for me in the past, and yes, I'm in Canada. FedEx, Purolator, and DHL are good, but expensive, and since UPS Air avoids the extra charges of their grounded sibling, they usually end up being cheaper even though it looks more expensive than their ground service. (at least, until their rep shows up on your doorstep with an extra bill)
IF your package arrives by Canada Post, and they have charged you too much, there should be a form attached to the package that you can use to get the money back, and all it should take is a copy of your reciept. I don't know how they are if you don't have the paperwork, they *may* accept a credit-card or PayPal statement as a reciept.
Unless you have money to burn, try to avoid customs brokers. I once had a pamphlet for a printer get intercepted by a broker, and ended up with a bill of over $100 for what was essentially a page from a catalogue!

yeah, I ship things to the US and get things back from them on a nearly daily basis... The "rules" don't really mean squat. I have so many things sitting in customs, and Canada Post has so many "forms" that I've filled out to contest their charges... If something were to actually happen the way it's SUPPOSED to with that, I would be able to afford to buy every member of this board a razr maxx for christmas. easily.
