Can't access Wap, mms.

Hey guys and Girls;
Just unwittingly purchased a parallel import L71. Chinese version; I have discovered, destined for the Hong Kong market, of course. As a matter of fact; I am living in Australia. Purchased the phone from an Australian discount web site.(Buyer Beware (ARE-JAYS)).

Anywho; At this stage the phone works conventionally as a phone, however, I cannot access wap or mms, no matter how hard I try. I have spoken to my provider and have tried entering wap settings both manually, and over the air, to no avail.
Also, have spoken to Motorola. They have told me that..."as it is a parallel import model it is not covered by any warranty". Thus I am at a loss.

Do you think this is a hardware issue, or is it more likely that a flash will solve this problem, or yet again, is it simply a question of the wrong phone for this market, or is the hardware the same across the international market.

I have managed to get my phone communicating with my pc in the event that I need a flash, however it would be nice to confirm my suspicions.

try this setup but replace the proxy and apn and username and pass with your network providers

Have tried a variety of settings with and without the aid of my telco.

I do have a very old sim is that potentially the problem?
