Z8 in USA

I'm new to the forum and glad to have found it. I love the Z8 and Z10 but trying to find them got to be to much of a wait so I had to settle for the Z8, had it for about a week and love it so far. The problem I'm having is I know that they aren't supposed to be available in the USA but they are. the phone itself recognizes my carrier, but it won't go on the web because of the old carriers software and directories. Is there any way to install my carrier's info on the phone. any help would be great.

the only way is to contact your provider and give you all the settinsg for web sessions and mms settings;)

Don't know if this apply to you, but I had a "stock" phone that I got
when I signed up for my providers service. It was an original V3 RAZR.
Anyway, I just went into the websession file and wrote down all the
info. Then when I got my new phone I just regurgitated that info to
the appropriate fields. It worked great.

You can always check the "operator settings" on hellomoto.com, find your phone, country, provider, etc.. Usually works just fine.

thanks patrix! your post helped me, as ive been trouble shooting this for 3 weeks. the key is to enter the portal in United Kingdom as they dont offer support for the z8 in the US. they sent me the settings for a prepaid company in the US called ZTAR and i followed the instructions and have internet/MMS fully functional. hopefully these threads will help others. JUST keep in mind although it supposed to be through ZTAR, when i went into the settings the addresses were cingular so im not worried. ill let you know if i get a bill, but ask yourself how a prepaid company can bill me! lol

That did the trick, went to hellomoto.com and it set it right up. now if I could figure out how to get the vodafone software out I would have the perfect phone, that is until the Z10 trickles its way to the UShttp://www.modmymoto.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif

how to know when the phone is gonna be released tried to contact motorola website to inform me when the phone is gonna be released in usa or any other country but with no point! is there any other reliable sources to know such a thing? "The guys in UK r very extreamly lucky they dont have to wait any longer lol"
