TUTORIAL: Adding EDGE to E6

Again, as with my last tutorial.. I DO NOT take credit for this.. I merely found it posted by someone else and forwarded it to you guys.. I dont take responsitiliby for your action or your phone.. I have done this to my phone and it works Fine..

And for Gods sake.. BACKUP FIRST

I Put my settings on the second to last step as 03 because you are not always in EDGE, so it Defaults back to GPRS..

So to activate EDGE on ROKR E6 we need:
1. RadioComm 10.3.1 or newer
2. Of course A Rokr E6
3. A basic knowledge of RadioComm.
4. A service provider that has EDGE network

In RadioComm click on the GSM 2 tab directly below it is Stelem/Rdelem box in those box's enter.

Element ID= 0341
Record #= 0001
Offset= 0000
Length= 0001
after you entered the information press the Rdelem button. in the Data box you will get the seem in HEX.

Change it to:
01
After you change it press Stelem button. Move to next step.

Element ID= 0340
Record #= 0001
Offset= 0000
Length= 0008
after you entered the information press the Rdelem button. in the Data box you will get the seem in HEX.

Change it to:

After you change it press Stelem button. Move to next step.

Element ID= 02AF
Record #= 0001
Offset= 0000
Length= 0008
after you entered the information press the Rdelem button. in the Data box you will get the seem in HEX.

Change it to:
007500FA20000000
After you change it press Stelem button. Move to next step.

This step is optional. The difference is 01 icon stays on, 03 the icon is only on when connected. It's a matter of preference.

after you entered the information press the Rdelem button. in the Data box you will get the seem in HEX.

Change it to:
03 (only when connected)
After you change it press Stelem button. Move to next step.

Offset= 0000
Length= 0200
after you entered the information press the Rdelem button. in the Data box you will get the seem in HEX.

(Depends on if you've made any changes before. so default will not be posted)
How to change it.
scroll through the data box look for FEFEFF03 change the 3 to 7
After you change it press Stelem button. Move to next step.

Click on Restart, when phone reboots enjoy EDGE.

Install Radiocomm and Run
You get a Big ass grey screen with a lot of intimidating text and boxes.. In the upper half youll see a bunch of tabs labeled GSM1 GSM2 GSM3 in bold.. Click GSM2 and begin to input all the info from my guide into the little section deticated for it.. the guide labels what goes where, just do exactly as it says and youll be fine..

Im working on compiling Just about everything you can do to a ROKR E6 right now.. Im still having trouble with Skins/Themes/Program installation.. Ill have that up as soon as I can get a a good Tutorial made.. But here is some more stuff thats good to know..

1) If you Flash new firmware, you WILL have to redo SEEM Edits
2) To See Firmware Version, Dial WWW008W (W = Wait)
3) To Flash the firmware, use RSDLite 2.8+.. turn off Phone, Hold the Camera button and Press the power button to boot to RED Screen
4) To disable Screen 3: Go to Setup icon, tap Home Screen Menu, change the first option (Screen 3) to OFF, and click SAVE. (After .08 FW Update)
5) default unlock code is '1234' and security is '000000
6) So Far, up to 4gb SD card will work as long as they are just Regular SD NOT SDHC

7) SDIO card dont exist for the phone yet.. They arent made to work with Linux, its a work in progress, give it time..

Holy shnikes! You are the best! I'm going to try and wing it on the site (don't want to come across as a naggy newbie :banghead: But I really do appreciate your insight. I am doing all this on a intel MacBook 2.0ghz w/ Parallels, so hopefully nothing will burst into flames from my experimentation. I thank you for your help along the way. Hopefully I can contribute to the "happy modding" :tapdance: experience.

Last night I finally got everything working for RadioComm, thanks to some help from about everybody on here. (Thank you!). Anyways, I put the 850 band on my E6 last night so today I was going to try putting EDGE on. Problem is, when I plug up my phone, there is a blue circle in RC instead of green. When this happened last night, I don't remember exactly what I did to fix it, but it had something to do with p2k commander, but now when I plug in, p2k says phone not connected. =[
