Skinning is really a very simple concept.

Download the program Skinner4Moto here:Skinner4Moto (http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=793&act=down)

You can find the updates for your specific phone for Skinner4Moto here:http://skinner4moto.de.vu/

You will need a graphics/photo editing program. GIMP is a freeware program and you can get it here:ftp://ftp.gimp.org/pub/gimp/v2.2/

Once you have connected your phone, downloaded and started Skinner4Moto... go to the site mentioned above to get the correct plugin for your model of phone.

Once you are up and running, go to the options menu and select which program you wish to use to edit images. You can direct the program to start GIMP or whatever program you use.

Once that has been accomplished, you will see at the bottom 1/3 of the Skinner4Moto window a button labeled "Pictures". Once you click that button, the list below will be of every image associated with the skin loaded in Skinner4Moto.

Scroll down the list, select the image you want to edit, click "Edit GIF", and your program will start with that image ready for editing.

Be sure to save your work frequently. Save it with your custom skin name in its own folder.

After you have created your image and saved. Go to grouped elements for your font colors and location for network, time and date.

Make sure the font will not blend into your images. You can use the out line on the second color to to bring it out if they are the same color.

Thanks guys. But Jack put in most of the work. I will have a easy follow guide for where most of the images will end up on your phone.
It will also explain the where the colors location will end up. I have been combiling this for about 3 months. Now I have to write down so one else will understand it.

Gimp guide Here (http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/).

You will need to download the file for your phone:
You can find the updates for your specific phone for Skinner4Moto here: (http://skinner4moto.de.vu/)
Make sure you put in the same folder with the progam. Then in The first pic jack shows where it says v3 you will have 2 option V3 and Roker. You can also add the other ones (I think there is 9 or 10)

what a wonderful skin, that "aero vista".. i cant remember who created it as ive had a few beers then a few more, but well done to you. only question is, why do the images in my menu go all misaligned and have some images missing, i.e the IM icon?

If you check the "Show Margin" box on s4m, you can actually select a specific homescreen part (clock, date, menu item) on the right hand side of the s4m window... and move them. Once you click "Analog Clock" or some such item, directly below you will see numeric values in small windows with up and down arrows. changing those values will move the selected item...and you can see it move on the skin pic to the left. Be sure they do not overlap.

Thankyou for your help, i was playing around with the skin, and found out that for my V3 and its 9 item menu, that it was placing the menu items in its own order, making things like borders and effects appear out of sync. I found the only way I could fix this was to change all the menu icons manually, going through the pictures and basically recreating the skin's positioning .... and at about 90% complete, my PC had to be reformatted and I lost everything.
