Z8 or Z10

hey guys! wussup! so i am thinking of buying one of these cool phones but confused which, they both look fantastic, Z8 look better then Z10 the colors and appearance, Z10 is more advanced than Z8 not much anyhow, and is it true that the mini usb port in Z10 is ver 1.1, that is strange cause Z8 is 2.0! which one is better and which one do u recommend guys, and how much does each one worth? that is the most important thing the cash!!

camera 3.2Mpx with autofocus..
latest symbian uiq version...
also the keypad is much better that Z8 .. and so on..

so just buy Z10;)

Price diff at the carphonewarehouse is a mere £20 between the two, also, so definitely buy Z10 and make all of us, the early Z8 adopters, jealous lol.

how much does Z10 worth any way it is still not released in UAE so i dont know yet, i hope to be release soon i can hardly wait!

Haven't seen it in stores yet (been travelling out of the UK), but last I looked in the carphonewarehouse magazine, they were selling, SIM-free:

Z8: £220
Z10: £240

Compare that to the original pricing of the Z8, SIM-free, of £400-£420. Still now, depends where you are, too. I saw the Z8, SIM-free in the O2 shop in teh Czech Republic for over £300...

Now I am jealous..just got updated the Z8 running with new f/w, oh well.. I'll hold out until AT&T comes thru, well maybe not.... The Z8 on ebay is running $220 to $250 w/ mem chip no sim. The Z10, geez, outta sight at /$450 or there abouts. Add the $50 shipping, and that steps it up a bit. So far as I can tell its only in the UK.

Im pretty sure that Z10 won't be released outside of the UK on O2 for a while, im lucky my family lives there so i could buy a z10 and bring it back over to America! :D

True, BTW, a bad thing about the Z10 is that it is O2 branded FW only so far and also it takes about 20 seconds to boot up. Not sure if Z8 has those probs, but they are annoying

Doesn't take 20 secs to boot up, about 5 or so maybe. My Z8 is unlocked, unbranded. Just flashed with 2388c3 f/w two days ago.

Hmm my 2388 Z8 takes about 20 seconds to boot too.

Just timed it, from button pust to making a call, 37secs.
From button push to flash screen start, 12 secs, flash screen finish another 12 secs.

Never noticed it, but then I almost never turn my phone off.

Yeah, i mean, from when it shows the boot screen to the homescreen is 20 seconds for me. :D

Well guess 300 mhz cpu isnt all that quick on the draw, wonder if speeding up the clock might help it out. Without burning it up that is...

Yeah, it might also be good to be able to add about 50 more MB of ram to my Z10, it only has 49 MB.

Only 50mb RAM?? Would've thought it'd be more. Z8 has about that much. Hmmm. How efficent does it use that RAM, I wondered??

Not sure, it is pretty fast, except the booting up part that is.

too bad there's no way to get the 3g working on AT&T..I'd get one for sure then.. I might anyway..in a few months.. Like the design, very good phone for my purposes..well the z8 is anyway.. I suspect the 10 as well.

Yeah, the 3G is a bummer, but remember if the Z10 is released on T-Mobile as their 3G flagship as it should be then flashing that firmware to the z10 should enable WCDMA 1700 so one could use T-Mobiles 3G.

That could work, but am locked into AT&T and really would like to stay with AT&T.

Anyway, if ATT releases the Z10 as well it would also be equipped with WCDMA 850/1900.

The Z8, is about 37 secs, button push to making a call.. but 20 sec boot up sounds about right tho. Am thinking I'll wait til the Z10 comes out a bit more globally, at least then I might have a chance at getting one UNbranded, maybe..

Yeah, hopefully moto releases an unbranded software update for the Z10 soon. :D

My Z8 takes quite long to boot up as well. But I guess it depends on how much you've got going on on the phone, because all those startup tasks have to be loaded into memory upon bootup. The Zs are slow phones in general. Too much going on for such a slow processor I guess.

Contract, guess I should've been a bit specific about that. AT&T works everywhere I go. I go alot, Canada, Mexco, Carribean, U.S. So far I've not been caught where I can't make or recieve calls. Would rather like to stay with AT&T. IF T-Mobile does start supporting the Z10, hopefully AT&T will as well.. Sooner or later.:shots:
