I have a verizon krzr with the most up to date verizon UI on it. I seem to be having problems playing mp3s and was wondering if anyone know anything about this? I load mp3 of various bitrate, frequency and size onto a sd card and get nothing. I can however load pictures into the "my_pictures" directory and pick them up on the phone. Infact, when I format the SD in the phone is does not add a "my_music" directory. It will load a pictures, sound and video directoy? I only know about the music from searching the internet for the past 3 days.

Has anyone heard of this? IF not is it possible a reflash to the verizon UI might fix whatever the problem is?

Any input is appresiated!

You could try creating the 'my_music" directory and putting your music in there. It's been a while but I'm pretty sure I had to do that with my telus. I uploaded a song to the phone without the sd card and noted that it went into a music subdirectory in audio. So I created that subdirectory on the sd card.
Here's a shot of my file structure.

I can play mp3s loaded to the phone just fine. Oddly enough I can't get the sd card to work. I did create a directory on the sd card called "my_music" but it still will not locate the mp3s. Is there something the p2k can do to tell the phone to look at the sd for mp3s?

ok, more messing around and I found some things out.

1. The card has to be formated FAT and NOT FAT32
2. To get all 4 directories on the card including the "my_music" directory you stick the card in the phone and restart the phone
3. I CAN get ALL music on the phone by syncing with WMP
4. When using wmp to sync files it cuts the filename down to 33 characters.
5. I can now drag and drop files to the card, but even with short file names the krzr will only read about 50% of them and it will only play about 50% of those. WEIRD

Can anyone confirm any of this or did I get a extra special KRZR? I would really appresiate some feed back!

if you're "drag and dropping" your songs on to the card, if it's anything like a metro phone, you have to make sure that the ID1&2 tags are matching, and that the title of the somg is less than 25 characters long.

that's a good idea. I checked the tags for two mp3s ripped from the same CD. The one MP3 played fine but the other would not not play requardless. So again i'm stumped...
