Has anyone had any luck editing menus without getting stuck on the AT&T screen?

Can you unlock the java apps, and use the phone to delete GPS without causing the menu to crash the phone?

idont know i got the atnt screen after modding the menu file n had to to a complete reflash of my phone, the day after i got it 8p
