I see over on MotoFans that there is a new E6 released with 11.12.08 (Which is already available), but it has Voice Dialing enabled..

This is obviously a must have feature.. Anyone out there with a ROKR have the version with this.. We need Some info on this, or if anyone also can supply a SEEM edit or whatever it may take to enable the feature.

I just got mine and it has voice dialing enabled. I would love to help you out with the SEEM file, (have no clue how exactly to get the phone to spit it out...) but willing to provide the info as long as I don't risk bricking my phone!

It's not 08p.. A member was mistaken. But there is one available w/ Voice Activation and Office Editor. That's all in CG43 if i'm not mistaken. No seem edits for this AKAIK

This is a hybrid firmware which combines E6 08P & A1200 firmware together in order to enable the voice recognition feature. You'll need to use RSD lite to flash the firmware. Hold the Camera button when powering on your phone and this will place your phone in flash mode. Connect your phone to Windows PC via USB and run RSD lite.

Disclaimer: Flashing your phone with customised firmware may void your warranty or even brick it. I will not be responsible for any damage that may occur when you choose to use this hybrid firmware. Use it at your own risk.

Feature List:
- Added Voice Recognition in English & Cantonese. Launch the "Voice Commands" icon to view a list of supported voice commands.
- The voice command "Switch to Cantonese" will switch the voice recognition engine from English to Cantonese, without changing the system language settings or menus. This will be useful only to Cantonese speakers. If you accidentally use this voice command and can't speak Cantonese to switch it back to English. Click the "Cantonese" icon. The Cantonese icon acts as a toggle between English & Cantonese Voice Recognition.
- Mapped Voice Recognition key to lower right corner button. This key isn't customisable.
- Mapped the carrier key (lower left corner) to become the customisable key which can be customised under the setup menu.
- Added the Bar Code Scanner application (QRCode) to the firmware. To create your own QRCode, visit the URL http://qrcode.kaywa.com (http://qrcode.kaywa.com/)
- Removed Realplayer intro animation to speed up loading when lauching mediaplayer.
- Added telnet & samba daemons to the firmware. To enable them, choose USBNET under usb setup.
- Added auto power-on via alarm (originally by bint).
- Added busybox to the firmware and a list of linked commands, such as vi, cmp, gunzip, more, netstat, route, su, tail, etc.

Limitations:
- Make sure you've enabled at least 1 item under Talking phone setup. If nothing is enabled under talking phone, VR will not work when headset is connected.

is it worth updating to you guys? I mean, i just upgraded to .08p and it scared me a lot. At first the RSD lite said it failed and i try to turn on the phone, doesn't turn on! so i pull out the battery and it turns on, and even though rsd lite said "failed" it still had the new firmware.

well it is basically done by combining an A1200 f/w with a Rokr E6 firmware just pulling the CG 34 out of the A1200 into the E6 firm. I will look into it some more and compare seems and file structures.

Flashed the new F/W today..
Some people are having luck with it not overwriting thier seem edits, and on some it is over writing it..

It over wrote my 850 and edge edit and now I cant get Radiocomm to recognise my phone.. :-/

When I get back from work ill fix it and write up a small troubleshooting guide.

Well, I guess it was just a driver issue.. Since It was not being reg\cognised by anything like RDLite or Radiocomm I just moved the USB plug to another port and reinstalled all the drivers and bam, recognised instantly.. Redid my SEEM edits, and all is good now.

That begs the question tho, how would one go about uninstalling drivers from jsut a single USB port in the device manager?

It was an option on the ming a1200 and AhMan combined the E6 and A1200 firmware to get this (I think lol)

Can any one tell me how do u use the feature of voice dailing? meaning which button do you press and hold to talk and dail. cos mine is a 08p and when i was looking into the .cfg files i saw some lines with voice dail or some similar word. but never used the feature.

Pressing the short-cut key (lowest right - blue arrow) is what I gathered from the Ahman's "user guide":
"Mapped Voice Recognition key to lower right corner button. This key isn't customisable."

So now when I press that, voice recorder opens up. I tried all variations of my voice saying the commands listed but the mic image innocently stands there. Please help. Do I need to do some other configuration as well???
