skinning elegance black and white

have been having trouble skinning elegance black and white....there is only a .7z file nothing else...what do i do?

go here: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/19139 and download ez 7z. the .7z files are a compressed file. Un-7z it and you'll see the typical files associated with a skin.

thanks, got that done. now im havin some trouble with the skin on my phone. its on there, but im havin trouble with the menu. im guessing this is because of the mma_ucp. in the skin package is a mma_ucp, and art2d2tx recently posted a mma_ucp for the skin. should i use one of these, both of these? and should i load them to a/mobile/system and delete the original mma_ucp or should i load it to the skin's directory c/mobile/skins/eleganceb&w ?

I never touch mma files. I've bricked my phone 3 times with other people's mma's. That skin has always caused me issues too, which is a pity, because it's a nice skin... Maybe someone here will help you out. Try posting the second part of this thread to the skins forum. You'll get more responses there.

Yeah mma_ucp's are a big deal with the skins, but are fairly impossible to edit with a Mac. You gotta use a Windows box.

Its actually cool--used to be if the skin wasn't designed for your phone you just plain couldn't use it, no we can tweak mma_ucp's and mix n' match. A little more work, but a good payoff.

how do i get 12 (or preferrably 9) icon menu on elegance?

with a properly customized mma file you can have a working 9 or 12 icon menu... But the statements above remain. You'll either have to edit the mma yourself, or find someone with a PC who knows what they are doing, and get them to do it. :P Or, maybe talk with one of the guys here who have PCs (mac man here), and maybe they can help you out.

Tks Moses, good to know this. I did manage to get the 12 icons on my mobile after trying a few mma's but I lost Airplane mode , so switch back to 9 icon mode and gain it back.
