Email auto checking and notification???

Hey guys. I have GPRS on my V3 and i use the integrated email client often for pop3 email. I notice that I can set it to auto check email every 30 minutes, then notify me of any new email. Is there a way to shorten this pediod to like 10 minutes? Alsom it does not ring or vibrate when I get a new message. Can you guys help?
