Setting up the Rokr E6 with T-Mobile US

Setting up the Rokr E6 with Tmobile US (web sessions etc)

Ok, just got mine in today, thought I'd share my first little bits...

First off I set up my internet:

Step 1.

Menu>Setup>Data Network>Menu>New>
Profile Name: whatever you want, I just did T-Mobile
APN: wap.voicestream.com
Timeout: 15 minutes
Primary gateway IP: 216.155.165.50
Port: 8080
Secondary gateway IP: 216.155.165.50
Port: 8080

Hit Save.

Step 2.

Go to your browser.

Menu>Setup>Profiles>Menu>New
Profile name: T-Mobile (or whatever you'd like)
Homepage: http://wap.myvoicestream.com (or whatever you'd like)
Network link: Whatever you named the Profile you set up in Step 1.

I'll do my pic messages setup in a bit. Until then, enjoy this...

Setting up MMS...

Assuming you already set up the new Profile in Step 1 from my previous post, this is what you do to set up MMS:

Messages>Menu>Service Setup>Multimedia Message>
Click the little silver box with a blue folder and a blue outlined folder on it.
Menu>New>
Profile name: whatever you'd like, I called mine T-Mobile MMS
MMSC: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
Max Sending Size: 300K
Network Profile: Click the little silver box icon with the blue folder, and choose the network profile you created in Step 1 of y last post.
Save, click the new MMS Profile you just created, and click Set as Default.

Congrats, you're all set up now!

alright, prepare yourself for one of those questions that are only asked by the excrutiatingly naive. Do you have to have web service from t-mobile for all this to work. I set everything up just like it says, but it didn't change anything. Do i have to subscribe to t-mobiles internet service to get this to work?

haha yes u do have to have web service from tmobile for this to work.. this is simply the settings needed to access tmobile from you phone. (since it was made in hongkong and not branded with tmobile, it does not have tmobiles settings installed.)

by the way, if you look around the site u can find a bug about this

I called tmobile last night and this is the settings they gave me for internet. Which I can now get FULL internet! I left the MMS section the same and made a new profile for internet.

gprs setting internet2.voicestream.com
timeout 15 min
csd dial *99#
baud rate auto
line type isdn
timeout 1 min


all else blank

i have t mobile.. and the same phone.. i have followed all direction (i believe) exactly.. please let me know if you have any other ideas. thanks..

I tried it and worked great.....only 1 problem

I can't go to yahoo.com or google.com or any other website!!!

How can I get thru and check out the mobile web?....it says access is denied!!

i just got this phone yesterday....ive gone thro all the post here..
i set up the network exactly explained in this thread...
all i get is the tzones thing,where you download wallpapers and ringers.
i had a sidekickslide....and im still with the internet service that i got with my slide....dont know if thats the reason i cant get on the net
