[Guide] Skins to a1200

Hi bros, Here i translated a Guide to get Skins on your A1200! ORIGINAL MADE BY KAMIHACKER AT SPANISH FORUMS

NOTE: NO ALL FW FOR A1200 ARE COMPATIBLES (DO IT ON YOUR OWN RISK) (Sometimes it just dont KILL, but sometimes it does (already happened to an A1200i which is spanish from factory), ao you´re under andvice!)

tools needed:
- PC :D
- your A1200 :D
- Kable
- PKG Programs (links are all the way down)

well lets start first of all for that all you need to get installed is the MPKG on the fone
here it is how to do it:
Install MPKG on the A1200 (http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16301)

well, with everything on mind we´ll do the next
we need to install two packages PKG those are:
1- Skin Installer (download (http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=4180))
2- Theme Installer (download (http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=4181))

NOW that you´ve downloaded, to install them well we copy the files .pkg to the root directoy of the TF card (besides it can be on other place :D), now that we´ve done it lets do the followin:
fone/file manager/(TransFlash)/A1200_skin_installer_0.2.pkg and we hold pressed the file with the ponter untill we get the opening menu, there we click on open with and we choose MPKG and we check de option: use always this program.....

now you´ll hear like a beep which means it has been installed :)
Ok, now before restarting we´ll do the same with the next file A1200_theme_installer_0.2.pkg
(NOTE: IF YOU CHECKED THE "ALWAYS USE THIS...." U JUST FIRE IT UP :D)
you´ll hear another beep

Ok, now restart the phone
now check the main menu � :D, one is called Skins and the other one is Themes

EXCELENT!!! now cool, ready :D
lets install for example, this:

Ok, now that we have it lets just download it and unzip it to the root of the tf card (me personaly added a folder named "skins" like: (..\Skins\irobot) ).
but skin files MUST be always in one folder

Ok, now that u copied it (lets suposse that u did it on ..\Skins\irobot), lets unplug the cable (on the good way a cable must be unpluged), and lets go to: file: manager and then to TransFlash\Skins\irobot, now we keep pressed the file IRobot.pskn and we fire on open with änd select Skins and then check the : use always........,
NOTE: it takes a while but u better leave it and wait for it to say Installation Complete�

Ok so not reboot yet, always on TransFlash\Skins\irobot, but now the file IRobot.phm we fire open with and we search for the app Themes
NOTe: do not touch until u see Installation Complete�

now RESTART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOW that u´ve restarted you´ll see the change :D

sumarize: pskn are goin to be installed with "Skins" and the files phmwith the prog "Themes"...

hola amigos pasa k instale un skin y funciono bien pero luego fui a cambiarlo por otro y ya ese otro no funciono bien trate de volver al que habia instalado primero pero ya ese se daño solo cambia colores y no se ve completo AHHH tengo un A 1200 quisiera instalar el skin yuliu tiene una carpeta tb con muchos gif pero no se como se instala

bueno en los skin que baje del foro no aparece phm solo aparecen pskn, skn,jpg,ezx y gif cual de los anteriores se instala com theme?...toca instalar todos ? ycada uno con cual aplicacion?

in my case i end up installing only the title bars and scroll bars. the icons are not installed. nor the startup and shut down screens. the "phm" files are often missing from the theme folder i downloaded frm http://mototheme.com

Hola!!! Soy nuevo en esta pagina y me ha ayudado bastante a modificar mi celular, es un Motorola A1200. Quiero cambiarle el skin pero tengo temor que mi celular muera, como puedo saber que skins puedo poner a mi celular sin que muera?? At mototheme dot com, the person talks about how you need to be careful about the skin files and such filling up the phones memory (talkng about the built in memory, not the micro SD card I added). Do these programs remove skins files you are not using from the built in memory on the phone?

Hello people!! Ive posted a question but nobody answered, i guess no one understands spanish... so here goes my question in english!
I have an a1200, i want to change skins cause im already bored of the custom ones which really suck, im already bored of my a1200 cause it seems theres not much modding i can do to it, the volume up thingy doesnt make any change, i click on the icon and a "ding dong" goes on, but i hear no difference in the volume, am i doing something wrong??? i installed it just as it said here but i dont see no volume table to control volume, or there isnt?? Well my real question is that how can i know if changing skins wont kill my a1200??? or do all skins work fine?? im sure mine isnt an a1200i. Anyways, please help me with this so that i wont throw my cel away!!! im sure interesting things can be done!!! Oie Kamihacker necesito una ayuda super urgente, estaba instalando temas con el linloader y mientras cambiaba uno de ellos al reiniciar mi telefono a1200 pues simplemente se quedo en la pantalla de inicio donde aparece el simbolo motorola, no se si me pudieras ayudar para decirme paso a paso que debo hacer para solucionar este problema, por cierto mi telefono es el a1200 ming que no viene con el español de default, muchas gracias....agradeceria infinitamente me respondieras pronto......

PD. El telefono si prende pero se queda con la imagen de la "M" de motorola al inicio y ahi se traba

hellos, necesito ayuda estoy instalando mi skins y eh hecho todos los pasos correctamente tal y como los especificaron pero tengo un problema a la hora de instalar en el telefono los archivos skin insteller y themes installer, cuando le doy a installar con el mpkg me dice k no puede instalar los archivos, k puedo hacer en ese caso me gustaria cambiar el tema de mi telefono ayudenme por favor

The contents in the Skin folder are
*.jpeg

*.ezx
on.gif
off.gif
*.pskn
*.skn

There is no files extension like *. phm, Plz help buddy
