Java nag screen

Anyone make any headway on getting around the nag screen that comes up every time a non-ATT java app tries to use the data network? I'd really like to get gmail working...

the idea is to digitally sign a Java app and allow it access to the phone's protected areas, like access to the network. Works for me, but it took a a while to get it right.
