Do I follow guides to Flex and/or Flash?

Hi - This is my first post so be gentle please! I have just gotten an unlocked l7 off of eBay. It has Vassio iTunes installed and have been able to install/play songs. I have also successfully done a seem edit to get rid of mms ^@ after receiving voicemail. My question is this. I want to have the Cingular icons for Media Mall and My Account show up in my menu. Basically, I want the phone to be as it would come from Cingular, then I can add skins and tweak little things through seem edits. I figured the easiest way would be to install the Downloads>L7>Other Files>Cingular Seem Pack. My question is this: Do I follow the guides for Seem Editing or for Flex and/or Flashing for this particular file, or am I totally off the mark with this theory. Any help would be appreciated as I just can't afford another new phone if I screw this up beyond repair. Thanks!

A little off the mark... you gotta flex a Cingular flex on there, but make sure it is the same famil of firmware {eg, if your current firmawre is R4513, then make sure the new one you flash is R4513 too. You will have to readd the Vassio iTunes, as this will erase it...

My next question is what would the Cingular Seem Edit Pack I mentioned before do and how would I install it. I mean, I don't know what "type" of software it is so I don't know which guide to follow. I browsed through the downloads for the l7 and only found 1 thing that specifically mentioned "Cingular Flexlash", and it has a notation saying that the usb connection in this flex is messed up and you will not be able to switch to data/fax mode. Don't I need to be able to switch into data/fax mode to connect to my PC? I don't mind doing the research to find things out on my own and try not to waste people's time, but I'm in over my head and need someone to point me in the right direction. I look at all the monster packs for the R4513 and have NO idea what the difference between all of them are! Thanks

No you just want to flash the latest R4513 MP and then upload the Cingular WebSessions file so you can do picture messaging and web browsing. The Cingular seem pack is seems, which is completely different from flashes and flexes.

A seem edit controls individual options. A flash changes the phones core system software. A flex changes ALL the seems, and the graphics branding, etc.
