Okay, Im a virgin to this whole phone modding thing, but Im trying. The endless search of this site has gotten me this far. I got ahold of RSD Lite 2.7, ( the closest I could find to your guides), I bring the flash up in RSD litejust like in the first step of the guide, click start, just like it says in the second step and absolutely nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? I have a Sprint K1M by the way.

Do you have your phone in bootloader mode? To get your phone into bootloader mode, turn off the phone, then hold down * and # then hit the power button all at the same time. Then the phone will be recognized and be flashable.

Try this, it worked for me. I dont remember that specific driver though. If all else fails, run Motorola Software Update in the background.

Ok, now its saying that its not supported by this processor type. I dont even know what that means.:furious:
milkbone98
04-21-2007, 03:30 PM

biker_boy_9r
04-21-2007, 03:45 PM
yeah...cant ya tell Im new to this
LOL then again....I think I got it...maybe.
ok I successfully installed the driver from here, yet still when I hit start, still nothing. could it be a problem with RSD Lite? I got the flash from this site so I didnt think it was that.
milkbone98
04-21-2007, 03:47 PM
you need the 64 bit drivers, are those what you got?
biker_boy_9r
04-21-2007, 03:59 PM
Holy crap I got it...started using my thinkin instead of my drinkin...LOL
Thanks for all your help man...I really do appreciate it.

biker_boy_9r
04-21-2007, 04:12 PM
tried that now my phones stuck on the HelloMoto screen, how bad did I screw up?
milkbone98
04-21-2007, 04:26 PM
what did you do? Is it formatting a card? Did you flash it with something?
biker_boy_9r
04-21-2007, 04:32 PM
I flashed it with this: http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=2232
A flash I got off of the site in the downloads section.
I can get back to the bootloader screen, but everytime I try to flash again it goes back to the HelloMoto screen in the middle of the flash.
milkbone98
04-21-2007, 04:33 PM
Is it still doing nada?
biker_boy_9r
04-21-2007, 04:34 PM
yep like I said I can get back to bootloader, start the flash again, then its almost like the phone disconnects in the middle of it.
milkbone98
04-21-2007, 04:40 PM
what does RSD say? Any error messages?
biker_boy_9r
04-21-2007, 05:01 PM
No errors, the comp just says that RSD stopped working.
I tried the Monster Pack and it will only make it to 97% and then same thing, stops working. The phone just goes straight to the HellpMotto screen at 97%. Same with the flash, itll go to a certain percentage and then boom, goes to the hellomotto screen, RSD locks up, and Im screwed.
milkbone98
04-21-2007, 05:16 PM
try to use PST to flash it. 7.1.x or higher i believe
biker_boy_9r
04-21-2007, 05:17 PM
let me guess...... GOOGLE huh
milkbone98
04-21-2007, 05:31 PM
yep, google is your friend on this one
biker_boy_9r
04-21-2007, 05:51 PM
And a great friend is Google...about to give it a try
Cant get PST to do anything either. It seems it has to do with my phone not being able to reboot. Im not familiar with pst, do i leave the phone in Bootloader mode, or does it need to be rebooted, which I cant do.
milkbone98
04-21-2007, 06:05 PM
hmm, what does it do when you power up? Nothing, correct? Try this, pull the memory card, then replace the battery and try, if nothing, run yet another app, Motorola Software Update in the background and try to flash with RSD, or just flash with MSU.
biker_boy_9r
04-21-2007, 08:14 PM
I cant find a version of the updater thats compatible with windows vista!!!
milkbone98
04-21-2007, 08:24 PM
oh dam thats right, Vista. Is the phone operable at all?
biker_boy_9r
04-21-2007, 08:33 PM
I can power it up and it gets stupck on the hellomotto screen, remove the battery, use the magic keys and get me to the BOOTLOADER screen but thats all.
milkbone98
04-21-2007, 08:46 PM
hmm, can you run stuff in XP mode on Vista? This may help too http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11122
biker_boy_9r
04-21-2007, 09:17 PM
I dont think my problems with the drivers, I just cant get the flashes or monster packs to finish. I can start both, but they wont finish, the computer makes the "dong" sound when the phone is disconnected and the comp says that RSD stopped running. The problem would lie with the cable would it? Its one that charges as well ya know.
milkbone98
04-21-2007, 09:19 PM
try connecting to a USB in the back of the tower
biker_boy_9r
04-21-2007, 09:33 PM
tried and still nothing, do the V3M monsterpacks work for my phone, I have a Sprint K1M just in case you forgot. I might give them a try.
Getting close to throwing it against the wall and claiming the insurance.
97% on the monsterpack and RSD stops running. Problem signature:

I dont think that they will . there is a guide to putting Alltell on it though. http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19252&highlight=omar
biker_boy_9r
04-21-2007, 09:42 PM
what exactly will that do? By the way, dropped RSD 2.7 and found 3.5. Gonna try that and see what happens. Why not right.
milkbone98
04-21-2007, 09:45 PM
Now thats a good idea. Or flash with PST.
BTW, heres a thread regarding the Alltell conversion. so close...

biker_boy_9r
04-21-2007, 09:50 PM
yep, this time the monsterpack failed to make it to the phone again, but RSD didnt stop working this time, just the phone went to the hellomotto screen at 97% again, so at least this version of RSD is better, I will check out that link now, see if thatll help.
milkbone98
04-21-2007, 09:56 PM
sounds like a plan. Take out the card too, maybe thatll help
biker_boy_9r
04-21-2007, 10:40 PM
HHHRRRMMMM....havent tried that...lets see.
Cant seem to find the Alltel pack, mind pointing for me, the card idea didnt work by the way.
ok the phone just wont let me in!!!!!:furious:  I just tried a flash and backup program still wont let me in. It will begin sending the data and then the phone goes to that @#%$#@# hellomotto screen.
I dont know if this will work but i am going to try and uninstall all of the drivers and then reinstall them, who knows, I dont think I can really make anything worse at this point.:banghead: :banghead:
milkbone98
04-21-2007, 10:41 PM
Well, it could technically get worse, but not much.
biker_boy_9r
04-21-2007, 10:46 PM
LOL..thanks.
You have anymore ideas man, your alot more experienced in this than I am, or would you say that I am royally screwed.
milkbone98
04-21-2007, 10:48 PM
I would try like crazy to get thet Sprint pack on there, using PST or RSD. I have no idea whats causing your RSD to crash though it does sound like a driver conflict to me. I would go to MotoDev, or the downloads section here and get the Driver tool 64 bit version and remove the old and start fresh.
biker_boy_9r
04-21-2007, 11:03 PM
10-4 man, at this point, Ill do anything short of stickin a bottle in my but and cluckin like a chicken, ok not really, but its gettin bad. I got the 32 bit to run, Ill try the 64 again.
milkbone98
04-21-2007, 11:05 PM
make sure to remove all drivers with the tool , i think a restart wouldnt hurt either between installs.
biker_boy_9r
04-21-2007, 11:07 PM
allright weres that tool to remove them again?
milkbone98
04-21-2007, 11:10 PM
http://developer.motorola.com/
we have a link here too, but thuis is the same. Get a login, get the UID tool, get er done lol
biker_boy_9r
04-21-2007, 11:45 PM
thats certainly the game plan
UID Tool not reads the phone but cant get the data from it. Dude thanks for the help thusfar, Im going to be. If ya can keep thinking of things and Ill check back here tomorrow to see if you came up with anything. Thanks again man.
milkbone98
04-21-2007, 11:49 PM
UID tool is just a driver tool, its not supposed to get the data, just get the drivers in.
biker_boy_9r
04-22-2007, 09:43 AM
Well the UID Extraction tool that I got from the site you gave me has options to retreive data from the phone. I dont know hao to use this prgram either. Little insight would help though.
milkbone98
04-22-2007, 09:52 AM
i just use it to remove the old drivers and install the new ones, there should be a checkable box when you get it running. I didnt realize that it could read the phone too, sorry. I hete messing with my drivers so I stay away from it as much as possible. When i installed my CDMA drivers, it completely screwed my GSM ones, which I use a lot more.
biker_boy_9r
04-22-2007, 09:56 AM
So far I have "UID/IMEI successfully retrieved". Try to save it and it wont save anywhere.
No checkable boxes, in either version 2.2 or 2.0
Matter of fact heres the product description:{This tool allows developers to read and save the Unique ID (UID) and International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) information of a Motorola handset using the USB connection in a Microsoft Windows® PC. Version 2.0 is used for the majority of current Motorola handsets.** Doesnt sound like anything your refering to.

04-22-2007, 10:20 AM
nah, i definately screwed the pooch on that. Lemme open a tab and check it out.

I allready have that driver.
milkbone98
04-22-2007, 10:47 AM
was it the msi that installs? In the start menu you can run it, at least in XP. When its executed, thats when the checkable boxes are available.

so do I clean only or what? Im there by the way.
milkbone98
04-22-2007, 10:55 AM
clean only i guess, if it doesnt work, then clean and reinstall.
biker_boy_9r
04-22-2007, 11:05 AM
Is it normal that the phone says "Jumping to RAM Downloader" the whole time its falshing
neither worked
milkbone98
04-22-2007, 11:08 AM

04-22-2007, 11:35 AM
hhhrrrrmm worth a try
Ok still nothing....Is there anything else that I can try flashing to my phone through RSD Lite. The two files that I tried are usc_v3c_04.08.00r_priii05698_customerupgrade_01 and honl242_x_00.37.00r_st1_ff_combo_upgrade. I can start these but part way through the flash the phone cuts itself off from the computer and shots to the hellomoto screen. Then I cant turn it off, or anything. I have to take the battery back out, and go to the bootloader screen. Arent there anymore flashes or monsterpacks I can try?
milkbone98
04-22-2007, 11:42 AM
Ive seen most people flash CDMA with PST, this may be a better choice than RSD. i updated my FW OTA, Mark Venture is the man when it comes to the CDMA modding http://mark.cdmaforums.com/index.php
take a look through there too.
biker_boy_9r
04-22-2007, 12:20 PM
I cant connect my phone to PST in bootloader mode can I?
milkbone98
04-22-2007, 12:28 PM
I believe that you can. You may get driver prompts though
biker_boy_9r
04-22-2007, 12:37 PM
I get this error when I open pst, "Cannot read serial ports key from registry" What does that mean?
IRDB_Programmer says object initialization failed. Program will now shut down.
milkbone98
04-22-2007, 12:38 PM
sounds like it needs the pst patch to me, it usually comes with it. If it didnt, get any pst patch, theyre not version specific. You may need to get the drag and drop ones instead of the uni patcher, with Vista and everything.
biker_boy_9r
04-22-2007, 02:26 PM
Ok man, looks like this is the end of the line for me, this is going to give me a stroke Im getting so mad over this. Looks like I will be contacting Sprint tomorrow and telling them I have no clue whats going on with it. Thanks for the help anyway.
