Greetings gang. Newb here to phones (but not to hacking and online forums) and I have a question regarding memory card capacities in the V3m.

I've read on several phone specification pages that the memory card capacity of the V3m is 1GB.

With 2GB cards available, is there a flash or flex or hack that allows the v3m to use the large memory card for music/photos, etc.? Being an "experienced" newb, I already searched several of the forums already using "memory" as a criteria, but didn't turn up anything specific. If I missed something, my apologies.

Thanks. :geek:

BTW, great selection of smilies here.

Welcome to MMM DonL! I have a V3m too, but the Sprint incarnation. Love this phone. AFA a 2gb card, i never tried it, however, with other Moto GSM models there is a hack of sorts, to increase their limit from 512mb to 1 gb. What they did was take an empty but formatted 512 card and copy the file structure to a 1gb and it worked. May be worth a shot.

Thanks for the welcome, MB. I'll look into those hacks and see what I can dig up. More searching came up with no other specific answers, but it looks like the firmware might limit it to 1GB for now.

Folks in these forums are ingenius and persistent types, and I have a feeling it's a matter of time before a hack or edit opens the big cards up more easily. ;)

Yeah, if you want to see some really ingenious stuff, look around the E398/Rokr forum. Those guys are gonna take over the world someday ;)
