i just got my new motorola z9 today. i didn't get it from the at&t store, but it has the same packaging and everything. i put in my at&t sim card and it didn't work, it told me "incorrect sim card" so i just took it out and tried it again. this time it asked me for a subsidy password which prior to looking it up online i thought it was just the pin. therefore i made the mistake of putting the incorrect password way too many times and now its just stuck on the at&t welcome screen.
i don't know what to do! why is it asking me for the subsidy password in the first place when im putting in an at&t sim card? is it going to be stuck on the welcome screen... i hope not!
help!! THANKS.

Try turning the phone on and off a couple of times, or try a different sim card, it's weird why your AT&T sim doesn't work, since the Z9 is only available on A&T

it's hard locked to att now, somethings wrong w/your sim card, some say that after a while the enter subsidy code shall return. Some say in the mountains of northern tibet a white hulking giant still wanders some say.....

i contacted the seller and im getting a refund. so i guess that's that.
i doubt its my sim card's fault- i tried the phone with a couple of other sim cards and they all don't work! it can't be that all the sim cards are broken!

you should have used the post to see if the phone was still under moto warranty and sent it in for a replacement
