Pink T-Mobile V3, unlocked (and over blinged), kid wanted a Iphone look so I backed it up, including PDS and flashed up an MP. Flash went well, phone is booting, all seems normal, I go to do a backup in Flash and Backup 3.7, the IMEI looks funny, I check my notes, its a not the same, no letters, just a new number set.
I back it up anyhow, and do a PDS restore. Bricked it. Repaired the PDS with P2Ktools 4.1 cracked. It comes up, alls well, but the IMEI is wrong.
What just happened here? And should I attempt to fix it?

THe fone could be a rebur and have flash chip replace so IEMI# don't match with the sticker or mainboard been swap

Would a PDS repair reset a changed IMEI number? It changed on the screen, the only reason I noticed was it had started with my zip code and I thought it funny, both RSD and FB show a new number. Sticker used to be same as the screen.

It should not but it it does then normally set it to so call "protocal type" or engineer test 000000000001234.
Don't need to fix it thought, is works fine beside you will need to have special box like smart clip or MSS to repair or Change IEMI#

Yeah thats what I was thinking, no real point in changing the number back as it works. Oddly enough I have access to a Smart Clip at one of the places I do jobs for, not a clue how to use it, seems the manual and related software were retained by the old owner, along with the cables.

You need to work smartclip together with the smartmoto software on their server. The box on its own is just a nice gadget.

Yeah I know, we need to resolve ownership first.
