Looking to unlock my slvr so I can use it with a t-mobile contract. Can't find the correct information to do this.

At the moment it can't be done via software [cable]. The only way to do it is take it to your local dealer and have them do it [if they know how], or you CAN do it yourself but it involves some hardware mods as well...

It's called testpoint to unlock. If you would like more info about how to unlock via testpoint post back but it is not recommended.

I have an L7 that I bricked several months back. All it will do is flash the blue lights behind the keypad momentarily. I have found the test point on another site and after following the procedure, my computer recognizes the phone, but says that I am trying to install the wrong type of software when I try to upload a monster pack. Any thoughts, or is it bricked forever? It was a Cingular branded phone in the beginning, but I have flashed it so many times, i really don't know what I have now. When I start the phone in program mode it says (Boot Loader 0A.20. SW version:R4517_G_08.C4.1ER).

Hmm. What monster pack are you trying to install? If it was Cingular branded at first, you need to install an R4517 firmware.

hehe it's a really dangerous way to unlock the phone...
u'll have do disassemble and u'll reset all its mem ;X

http://*********************** there's some nice links of info/video about how unlock by testpoint.

BTW, i went to a Motorola Authorized Support, they said that just by typying the Subsidy Code, when insert another operator's SIMcard, i can use it. Is that true? Is there a way to get it? Or change it on a branded l7?

Thx (;

That is the easiest way, but only the carrier can give it to you.

is this code unique for each phone? or it's the same for each model? isn't there a way to discover it? X:

it's unique for each phone regardless of model and is tied to the IMEI number of the phone. without special hardware or info from your carrier, there is no way to unlock at this time.
