I am trying to figure out if this is possible and if so, how. Can you make the l7c use mp3s for ringtones?

I have been searching for a while and cant find anything on it

Yes you can easily use an mp3 for a ringtone. Have you successfully transferred the mp3 you want to use to your phone yet?

Yes I have. I am on a Verizon L7c. I hope that wont make a difference.

What do I need to do? I tranferred the 30second mp3 onto the phone via wmp on the USB. Then I moved it from the memory cards memory to the phones memory. I just cant find out how. I called the Verizon 611 (help) to see WHY they dont enable it off the bat and they said because of digital rights (TOOLS!).

Please let me know!!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

also I cant seem to get any versions of P2K Commander to recognize the phone. I have tried up to v4.9.A and same message :"no p2k device found"

Thats a great new way to say that they want to sell you the ringers. There are no DRM issues with 30 second clips, there is actually talk of it coming though, the greedy ass recording companies want more money from the likes of VZW

oh yeah, make sure that you run PST, RSD lite or MSU in the background for a p2k connection

Ahh, I didn't realize you were on Verizon. I use Cellular South and once I copied the mp3 over to the appropriate directory via Bluetooth I was able to choose it as my ringer through the menus. Simple as that. I wish I had a Verizon phone in front of me so I could figure it out for you, but hopefully one of these other guys can give you some info on how to enable mp3 ringtones on Verizon phones. Best of luck to you!

I have a Verizon L7c and yes you can use MP3's. The Generic Failure is common. I get that all the time. The trick is to use the right PK Commander. Get Version 3.22 or 3.26 anything newer won't operate correctly. Remember to put MSU or MST on in the background.
