Yup, try Flash&Backup 3 from our downloads section. I believe it works with the CDMA phones, were you unable to get it to do so?

haven't tried it yet, this phone is not mine, is from a friend, so i have to wait until i can coincide with him to get it done.. I'm just asking prior to trying anything

I have been unable to get FB3 to work with my V3c. It's not listed as working, nor is the e815 or V3m. (all these phones have nearly identical firmware) If I'm in the program and connect the phone, it freezes, if I connect it then run the program, it shows up in the taskbar, but won't start. It *might* be an issue with my computer, but I doubt it. I think it just doesn't work with CDMA phones.
I have done a lot of research in the past few weeks and just spent 2 hours today researching it, and no one has figured out how to backup a V3c yet

Would that mean there would be the same issue if i wanted to back up my V3m?

Yeah. I don't know if you've heard of a guy named Humpa, but he's a bigtime V3c modder. He says no one has figured out how to back up a CDMA moto period. There was an 8-page thread over at motomodders, it's stickied in the V3c forum. They were able to copy the raw firmware data, and someone worked for months to convert the raw firmware data into a flashable backup and evetually gave up it's here:
http://www.motomodders.net/Default.aspx?tabid=55&forumid=50&tpage=1&view=Topic&postid=166972
around page 7 is where he says no one has been able to do it. His webpage is http://www.humpa.com
that said, I don't see this as such a big deal. All the the stock verizon firmware has been leaked, and a firmware backup isn't going to save your contacts, pictures, ringtones etc. anyway. Here's what you do to keep from bricking your phone:
1) Backup your contacts and calendar with MPT
2) Keep a "Seem Backup" folder and just add your original seem before you do any mods to it. Because even if you screw something up, as long as you can get to the boot screen, you can upload a new seem (or if your data cable charges all you need is the charging screen to upload a seem)
3) Use p2k commander to copy your phone filesystem over to your hard drive. I know that sounds time consuming, but it really doesn't take anytime at all. Then if you mod a file and it doesn't work, it'll be easily replaceable. You also get your pics and ringtones that way.
4) Of course, keep a copy of the leaked version of your firmware just in case
The verizon and alltel V3c firmwares are in the download section here:

The Verizon V3m firmware is at the bottom of this page:

If you switch to alltel, then screw something up, then alltel would be what you want. The problem with that is so far, there has been no leak of the Alltel V3m firmware, just the V3c. The V3c alltel will work on a V3m, but you won't be able to use your memory card slot. Also, I've not seen any guides on switching from sprint to Alltel so not only would you lose your memory card slot, but you may not be able to get all your extras working. here is the switching from Verizon to alltel
http://wiki.howardforums.com/index.php/Motorola_V3c_Tutorial:_Flashing_to_Alltel_User_Int erface
It tells how to get VCAST and everything working again. You may be able to adapt this to sprint. If you can't though, you are stuck because there's no leaked firmware for the sprint V3m yet. With sprint, there is no way for you to reflash, unless you're putting another carriers software on it

I completely agree with you Ghost. I have spent more work time these last 2 days playing with my phone.
