I can confirm that 8GB micro SDHC cards work on the ROKR E8. Most of you probably assumed it would work since 4GB cards do, but if there was any doubt out there I just wanted to clear it up.

That's freaking sweet. I thought they would work, but I didn't want to risk it. I already bought a 4GB card though :( Thanks for confirming that though.

why is that?
is there any risk if you insert a 8GB SDHC in your E8?
so is it really true that 8GB SDHC works on E8?? :)

there is no risk to the phone or the memory card, the only risk is that the phone rejects the memory card.

For the people who have said the SDHC works, do you have the US t-mobile version? Or is it unbranded?

that's not related to FW or operator. So, any E8 can use uSDHC 8GB cards.

oh thanks. its just that its advertised that the micro-sd goes up to 4gb. and its obvious that the micro-sdhc goes well up to 16gb, and soon 32gb. and the max normal micro-sd cards went up to 4gbs, a very long time ago during its early release before sdhc cards, so it was questionable when people claimed 8gb sdhc cards worked or not.
thanks taurnil for clearing things up.

Is there any reason why they would want to restrict the capacity of the ROKR E8? Does anyone know if there is actually truth to their claim that using a microSDHC card "can damage the interface of the phone"?

i highly doubt putting an microSDHC damage a phone, unless you start using swap or themes on it, but both aren't supported by E8 (YET) so i'd say don't worry, it'll be cool if someone test an 16GB (microSDHC duh!)

I saw in another thread that the 16GB does not work in the E8 however I cannot personally verify that.
I have a dumb question but just want to clear it up. When using an 8GB card the phone itself still operates as fast as it would with a 4GB card? Thanks
