I believe Cingular sells one on their website (http://onlinestorez.cingular.com/cell-phone-service/accessories/index.jsp?q_id=2877100015) also.

RadioShack I think sell them also. But thats how it is, cheap stuff on eBay, pricey stuff elsewhere... to be honest its probably all the same stuff. :D

The Motorola adapter has a module or something in the wire. Does anyone know what it is so I don't have to tear it apart? The ones on eBay don't have it, is it important?

Do you mean the microphone/turbo button on the OEM ones?

I assume you're talking about the Stereo headset adaptor, that lets you use regular headphones to listen to mp3's on the phone. I've got 2 of them for my L7. The first one I got from e-bay for like 1 dollar. Didn't really work because the volume would not get loud enough on my headphones. The second one I bought from my local Cingular store (even though Cingular isn't my carier). This one has the little box on it, which is actually an ampliphier. You really need to get an adaptor with an ampliphier if you want to actually be able to listen to anything on your phone. The cheap e-bay one unfortuneatly doesn't cut it.

Wow, Treaty that is great information for us. This certainly will help when thinking about which one to get.

Wow, that blows, I just ordered the eBay one:owned: Maybe I can edit the gain table to make the wired earpiece useful

Does anyone know if the OEM Krzr one will work? It has the in-line amp and I like its design a lot better than the one that came with the MPX 200, those "hammer" earbuds dont quite agree with my ears at all, the Krzr's look more comfortable in the picture at least.
