Bluetooth activity light?

I have been told that the small clear square located at the top of the SLVR on the right hand side is the activity link indicator LED for bluetooth connection. I am also assuming that this is what the "gold wires" on the inside of the faceplate go to.

We tried testing it at the radio shack I work at by pairing it with my co workers bluetooth but it simply did nothing.

I am hoping I did not jar something loose when I dismantled the phone a few months ago.

I just picked up an H700 headset and would like to find out WTF is going on before it arrives.

Is this in fact the bluetooth activity LED?

Nahh, thats the light sensor. The BT icon on the screen is the only indicator.

It controls the keypad lighting to save battery power when in a well lit area.

Hmmm. That is indeed what it is for states google.

But the part that puzzles me is that I haven't noticed any difference in the keypad or backlight whether I'm in full sun or pitch black since I got the phone.

I just held the phone directly under a 60 watt bulb and the keypad lights still come clear as day.

Don't tell me that I have to add this feature to the long list of things that cingular has faggotized on the L7

^^lolz. Mine worked before i modded it, you may have messed it up accidentally, or it may be off for some reason. Use p2k tools and check; in the extras menu in p2k tools, the is a checkbox for "enable light sensor" If its off, turn it on and recheck it.
If you are interested, i have a backup of my R4517 Slvr hosted on teh net. Its in .shx form, and is tweaked moderately. All the Cingular crap is gone, iTunes is 1k limit, DRM and font is new Moto style (v3x) some other stuff too. At least one other member here has used it successfully, and if your phone is unlocked this wont lock it. If you use it and like it, LMK please. The link is:

Or, you can download the modded seem 0032_0001 file from the downloads section and save lots of time!! The sensor is activated on that seem.

That's what I figured. It's been shut off.

What are the SEEMS that need to be changed.

I'm not trying to download some pre modded 0032_0001 SEEM and overwrite all my other mods on the one I currently have.

So just use p2k tool and enable it. Or p2k AE.

Personally i feel like a noob when i use AE for these sorts of things.

I'm not the type of person to have a checkbox do all of my work.

But it works none-the-less.

So I'm not griping too much.

I've really gotten rid of everything except for the icons, which is the gayest part of all.
