Help! I screwed it up.

Anyway, I have a sprint razr v3m red and I was modding it with pk2commander. I was deleting a photo file on my phone and the whole thing went crazy. P2KC closed, and the phone disconnected from my computer and now when I start the phone up, it shows the animated screensaver and the correct time and some assorted icons, but it says no service and none of the buttons work. My computer no longer recognizes it. Am I screwed? Is there any way to restore factory settings? I just got the phone a few days ago. Can I bring it back to Sprint in this condition? Any advice?

I was doing the same on a Metro Pcs V3m. It was working fine until I deleted some pictures in the a/motorola/shared/pics. Mine shows the boot up screens and animations with sound. The phone works fine I can still use internet, make calls, the tiny icons on the top of the screen are there, and the camera and video functions work. My screen is completely black except for the icons at the very top of the screen. When I press the center button of the nav buttons it doesn't show the menu anymore. I have tried putting in a new theme but no dice. I didn't know how to back it up properly and don't have a back up of the files I wiped. Any ideas????

There are pictures in there the phone uses. EDIT: Ok I only have the MetroPCS flash for the V3c. It'll work but you'll lose your card slot functionality...Answer my question below, and we'll go from there

I must ask first though, I had a similar problem when I installed a bad skin, did you mess with the skins at all? If so, a reflash won't help, but we can still fix it

Ok what did you do with them? Did you 1)add a new one or did you 2)delete a part of one that came with it?

Solutions for:
1) Open up BitPIM and delete the folder of the skin you added and everything in it. Then just powercycle your phone. I say use bitPIM because p2k commander won't always delete it, it just won't show it being on there, but it is.

2) Download the stock version from here:

and replace the file you deleted

If you didn't do either of those, what is it you did do?

EDIT: ok I didn't see the post right above this one. Just follow the instructions for 1). Also you can't use those skins. Those are for the V3, L7, ROKR, etc. You can ONLY use skins from the 176x220 V3c & K1 skins section. (http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/downloads.php?do=cat&id=79) Need to get that title updated. The other section will just screw up your phone. Also when putting skins on the phone, make sure the folder you create for it is the exact same name as the .ski file for it. It is case sensitive too.

WOOOHOOO!!!! Thank you :) If you know a way to back up my phone now that everything works I noticed no one has a V3m flash for MetroPCS. Any files you want I'll send them.

You're welcome! What files are you referring to? The ones off your phone? If so, that won't help. We have figured out how to get all the raw data off the phone, but haven't figured out how to convert it to a format in which it can be reflashed onto the phone.

The best thing to do is copy all the files off your phone onto your computer. Whenever you seem edit, back it up first and have a folder where you keep only the original backups. Also ONLY do mods that are for the V3c/V3m/v710/e815 trying mods for any other phone could brick your phone totally. That will save you from 99% of screw ups on this phone.

MERRY X-MAS MOTO MODDERS!!!! Just curious I still can't seem to install skins though. The new skins show in the phone but when I select them they don't work. Bad skins???

I tried V3 Razr Green and Moto Orange. I prefer the V3 one. I have skinner for Moto and was thinking of trying to import the V3 Green into a copy of the Moto one. Hmmm.

i think i have the same problem.. in a way.. i recently placed a couple of skins on my motorola v3x and now some of the icons are missing or unaccesible.. i was planning to flash my phone (if that's even the answer) with whatever's available on the net but i can't even extract the downloads i have. what do i do?

I don't know exactly, I only install them one at a time on my V3x, because there are so many parts to each skin. I'll bet if you post that in the V3x section (http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=11) someone can help you.
