Okay, hey guys, I'm new here, but i do have general knowledge as to what im doing when skinning. Well unfortunately a freak accident happened. After using many skins on my TELUS KRZR K1M, i installed another one today. Upon rebooting the phone via P2kCommander, the phone was completely errored. Boots up normally, but instead of tezxt and all, its blacked out. The entire skin is black. Does anyone know a way to boot the default skin for the k1m on, or do a factory reset outside of the phone, i can cycle as i cannot see wat i am selecting.
Aslo, p2k was not allowing me to delete the files from all the folders i added in the /a/mobile/skins/ folder.. any help would be much obliged. Thank you in advance.

I've had similar problems with skins.
What worked for me was to shut the phone off and take out the battery. Bitpim was still able to read the phone and using it I deleted the offending skin. The phone the reverted to the default skin and worked fine.

Have you installed the Motorola phone tools CD that came with your phone? If so when you plug your phone into your computer it should show up as a Modem - Motorla USB modem - in device manager.
Don't have any other program running when you run bitpim. Bitpim doesn’t work with the p2k drivers. It works like MPT, with the phone as a modem.

I choose “other cdma” for phone type with my telus k1m.
If bitpim tells you it can’t find your phone and asks you if you want to run settings, click yes. Click “browse” beside Com Port and you should see “Motorola USB Modem” listed under available ports. Click it, click Ok and be sure you’ve clicked “filesystem” in the left hand window. Then click the plus sign next to the folder in the center window. That should show you your file structure.

Good Luck!

Thank you. This thread really helped me on how to fix my phone. I had the same errors. I used bitpim and deleted the skin and my CDMA USCC Razr V3m was back to its normal self.
