well my battery connector was completely loose, and seperated from the main board like this picture:

before I took it apart, the phone would not charge the battery, and would not turn on with a fully charged battery installed. it would say "unable to charge". so, I took apart the phone and took out the battery connector. then, I took each prong out of the holder, and soldered each one in the correct placement. it now says invalid battery when I try to charge it. and with a fully charged battery installed, again it says invalid battery but it will start and run. the batteries are real motorola batteries. the battery and charger pins are clean. the phone dots are still white so it hasnt been wet. should I try re-soldering the pins on again?? soldering those things are a chore!!! steady hand and hold your tongue just the right way! LOL
