how do i customize the sub-screen on my v3?

What do you mean with sub screen? The outer display?

First of all U need to pick the image U want in the outer screen. When U´ve choose one, must resize it to 96x80 pixels and rename it as "cl.gif" (Use Paint or Corel for that). After done that use a P2K program(I use the BullP2k or P2K Tools 3) to upload the image to the folder "a/mobile/system", restart n´ is done. Good modding!

Oh yea,
And you have to make the file Attribute 70044

You do that by entering a 68 in the Attributes box.
(for real, a 68 will be a 44)
then highlight the cl.gif entry
then click Change
then click Update list

all that sounds a little 2 complicated 4 me...any1 want to break that down a little. im new to this p2k editing thing so i dnt know and understand most of the stuff!

I swear U: It´s easier to make than tell it. Once U´ve done your choice(of the pic U want to put in the outer screen), change the size to 96x80 pixels and save it as: "cl.gif". Later open a P2K program U want(can be: Motokit, P2KTools3, BullP2K,etc) and upload that to the folder: "a\mobile\system", restart the phone, and voila, It´s all done.

It's really alot easier than you think. I just did it with complete success. Here's how I did mine.

When you do make one make sure that you make it brighter than you actually want because your moto screen will almost always display the image alot darker.
After you create the screen, go to file> save for web if you are using adobe. Make sure you have your settings set to gif optimization. Mine is set to Gif with 256 colors, 100% dither. After the image is saved open p2k Tools, and make sure the phone is connected. Then scroll to a:\System and look for cl.gif. click it and click the upload button, then browse for your new screen and select it. restart the phone, and you should see it almost immediately after the phone restarts. I did it with no seem editing or anything, just a simple image swap.
Hopefully that will work for everyone :)

Yea I wanna try it, but I'm not clear on one little part concerning editing the second seem. It says to overwrite to seems, but do I overwrite both seems with the same modded seem? Wasn't too sure so i fig'd I'd wait.

yeah u dont need to do any flex or seem editing upload and restart
