Hi all I have a V3 that just wont connect to my PC even in bootloader mode. When I plug the phone in the PC says "USB device not recognised" One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows doesnt recognise it.
This happens whichever mode it is in when I plug it in. Any ideas?
Boot Loader = 07.E0
SW Version = R374_G_0E.40.79R
Any help much appreciated.
is it just this one phone or is it with all phones? in the last case i would just re install the drivers following Apristels "get connected guide" you know were to find it:D

It is just this one phone, I have followed the first guide in the thread a few posts down and after uninstallimg all the drivers when I plug the phone in it first says USB device unrecognised, then USB device malfunctioned but no option appears to install drivers??

have you tried switching usb ports? or using usb ports at the back of your pc.

Have now tried both the guides in the thread below
3 different cables and 2 different ports
This phone is doing my head in

I am now coming to the conclusion that there is something wrong with the port on the phone!

No I have uninstalled and re-installed the drivers to no avail. I can connect my L7 no problem I am more and more thinking it is just this V3.:(
Looks like it wasnt such a good e-bay buy after all.

just the looks of the pic seems to be splashed with salt water. hehe! maybe it was a hardware issue after all.
I suggest an alcohol bath for the phone parts...and a soft soft toothbrush to gently clean the buildup. And, since alcohol evaporates quickly and without residue.... hopefully that will work. By the looks of your dot inside the case, there was definitely a moisture buildup

OK so what am I missing? I cannot remove the circuit board in the top picture from the housing I have looked at the guide but it doesnt help a great deal I have unclipped the two clips it shows you but the board will not come free. How hard can I lever it?
That, honestly, I am not real sure of... The_school_LOZR has completely disassembled his phone at least twice.

um... I would say it has been gotten wet because one of the dots is red, but not the one on the board, so maybe the board didnt get wet, but it looks like it has.
But as J&M said, soak the board in a jar with at alcohol in it (and i don't mean beer :p) , it should be somewhere around 92% pure rubbing alcohol, the more pure, the better. and kinda swish it around a little, then let it sit for a wile, and then swish it around some more. after a few hours of letting it sit, take it out with tweezers or something, and let it dry for a long time.
once you think its dry, get some compressed air like they sell in a can, and spray it aimed inside and around the small grey boxes [ionno what the hell they are called lol]
then you should be all set after that, just carefully put everything back together, and try not to touch the metal parts on the board.
@Jacknmary: i think it's been somewhere up around 25 LOL
EDIT: I guess i just typed all that for nothin, didnt see the 2nd page lol. congrats on gettin it back together and workin, and maybe somebody could find use for all the crap i just typed LOL
