Here is the short and sweet on it, for anyone who needs it.

Use V3re_Flex_Editor_v1.00 & FB 3.0.7 to remove unwanted skin names from phone.

1st Download and install Flash & Backup 3.0.

2nd Connect V3re and select the cg2 file (that contains the skin names), then save it as a *.shx file.

3rd Use the V3re Flex Editor to edit the *.shx file and delete the unwanted skin(s). Then save the edited file.

4th Open FB3 again and write the edited file from my computer over the existing phone's cg2 file.

You can do this with skiman very easy than you say.

Never had luck with that program. If it works for you great! My problem was the skin name remained on the phone, even with nothing in it. And other programs wouldnt show skins listed either when reading phone, but when you looked on the phone it was still there. So if anyone else has this problem then try this route. Its really very simple!

i use this method because skinman wont delete the folder name from the phone. modnmotos, very clean tutorial.

When I follow this link it takes me to another link which takes me to moto modding site that says this has moved then gives an address to goto. When I goto that address there are like 8 or so posts none of which say anything about skin removal from phone. Am I missing something? I just threw that up there for a quick easy how to, sorry if it stepped on anyones toes.

He's right, Dumba, the link in the sticky is dead. www.MotoModding.us has changed to www.mmus.us. I'm not sure which thread you were linking to, but this one describes the flex editor and how you can delete skin names with it.

If anyone needs (like my self) "dummyproof" versions of these guides I can supply them for you. I take no credit for creating these guides I just took them and simplified them like the above guide.

Change the provider text
Changing the HelloMoto wake-up screen
Creating jad from jar files
How to replace font
Skin Coordinates
Whats safe to delete

Interesting. Skin coordinates? I haven't done much skinning (yet,) but that piques my interest. Can you move the date, the provider text, and/or the clock? If so, I'd love to see your guide on that.

Yes Yes and yes. MotoSkin_v0.1.7 you can tweek all that stuff. Includ. changing the menu bars, headers. In a St. Louis Blues skin I made for wife which isnt finished yet the highlight bar has a bluenote at the end of it. In my word doc I have a breakdown of menu in motoskin and what each item changes on the phones screen. Plus a map of the actual pix coordinates. Ive dabbled in skinning just now getting into more adv. stuff with the mm_ucp's
