P2KTools not working / is there a better alternate?

Greets,

This utility looks great but I wish it worked! Even P2KCommander looks impressive, but I haven't gotten in to work on either XP or Vista with a V3re. I reads the phone, and can even restart it etc, but it wont read the file system.

What version of P2KTools or Commander works with a V3re? Also, is there an alternate to use for deleting, seem editing, and menu editing?

Download and install rsdlite. Run program and leave running then open p2k or pkcomm. You dont need to do this process if you run mexplorer or midway.
mexplorer for deleting or uploading ringtones,wallpaps,scrnsavrs(be carefull of what you delete there is a sticky of whats safe to delete) / midway for installing games and apps / p2k for extracting seems to do seem edits / pkcomm for installing skins.

Basically, he says that Rsd lite has the drivers. You should also try downloading the p2k drivers from the software section.

I don't think that's what he's saying. I haven't needed this personally, but I've read that running RSD Lite in the background occasionally has the odd effect of letting devices connect when they didn't before. (Update, I actually have had to do that now.)

I did have a connection problem at first. Mototraktorz, make sure you already took the steps in the getting connected guide.

Then make sure you have the very latest versions of the tools you want to use (that was my problem.) I'm using P2kTools version 3.0.8.864 and it works fine with my v3re. I had an issue using it with Vista, but if I run it as an administrator, it works fine. Also, I had to change the config.ini file to view my phonebook (see http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=132141.) I still haven't yet successfully used the File Manager utility, but for that I can use P2kCommander version 4.9.E which works fine with my v3re.

But yeah, if you do all that stuff and it doesn't work, keep on posting. Eventually somebody will come up with a solution. That's the best thing about about this site.
