I'm not sure if others know about this, but I haven't read about it anywhere, so I thought I'd post.

Since I'm rather new to modding, I was just messing around with seem editing. In particular, I was interested in what text was stored in the seems (e.g. in the "Razr v3 Change CL gif on the go" tutorial, when you open the 0061_0001 and 0062_0001 seem in XVI32 you see the file path for cl.gif.)

As I was pulling seems and looking through them, I found seem 007D_0001 and pulled it up. And to my immense surprise, I found part of a text I had previously deleted! So I started looking through more... 007D_0002.... 007D_0003.... etc. All the way until 007D_00B2. A bunch of deleted texts. I was really quite surprised. This is after deleting the texts and even rebooting the phone more than once (just to make sure.)

I'm not sure if other people already know about this, but I thought I'd share my discovery.

I'm very interested in what others think of this. I'd love to hear some speculation. Are there other things like this?

Thats very interesting, wonder if those can be cleared/deleted for even more storage/room on phone. Also wonder if seem can be changed so that it wont keep that info. I also wonder if somehow that ties in with the allocated storage space that forest talked about and can it be changed? Correct me if Im wrong but wasnt that you that asked about that while back? After finding this did you try to delete any? Now I can see what my daughter texts about. Youll ask her to use her phone or she will use yours then before she gives them to you she will delete all texts. Makes me feel like she is hiding something.

Yeah, you're absolutely right. I've been looking into possible ways to increase SMS capacity. I haven't tried to clear them or anything like that just yet, but I'm really hoping this is one of the clues we need to find out how to increase SMS storage.

Interesting about your daughter... I hope you find out what you need to.

Just a heads up, though: The text messages are sort of fragmented. You'll see what I mean when you look at them. Parts of different texts here and there. "a concert here in Denver! It's really awesome, you're missing ou" and "en she started complaining that I don't spend enough time with her. Which is, of course, ridiculous." I made those up, but it's along those lines. Sometimes there's a few in a row, and sometimes it appears to be random.

I haven't had a chance to look at it more closely since I've discovered it, but when I get a chance I'll see if I can figure a way to assemble it in such a way that that all the pieces mesh in the correct order.
