im curious about the v3t, i know its a tmobile version of the v3i, and i heard the release date is late October.
Can anyone confirm this date, and also has anyone seen the specs on it? maybe from an insider tmobile friend?
Also im pretty sure this phone wont have itunes, but will it have something different than DAP? beacuse im not a big fan of it

Hey, Poetic, I work for T-Mo, in another thread (that i cant find now, naturally), I've been told approx. last week in November. I also just made a full backup MP of the My Faves V3. You can try to get one through retentions, usually comes to about $30-40 less than if you just do it normally. Free will never happen, I cant even get a Pebl as an upgrade, or a V360 and they(v360) are free for new custs right now. Think I'll upgrade with a BB Pearl, or an MDA and see if someone will trade me a Krzr for it. I'll even unlock what I trade. Anyone?

the only picture i saw was a picture on a flyer on ngadget or some other website, the picture was the inside and it looked just like a normal v3 form what i could see, (no itunes key or music key)

so it will probably just look like a DAP v3i, i did hear it was black though, idk if its true or not

I was at a training given by T-Mo regarding current plans, devices, etc. When I mentioned that the instructor mis-informed the class regarding the price on a data plan, and that was his second critical error within 20 minutes on his alleged specialty, data devices, I was informed that isnt the T-Mobile way. I have dealt with 4 of the top 5 providers (never NextHell) as both an employee and a customer, and T-Mo is definately the best from both sides. Whats that tell you? lol

OK, just got informed that the v3t will have "music player", not specificly called iTunes, probably will be DAP, and that it will be black in color, and its out the end of October. First day its out, I'm gonna order it, so i'll have more answers then.

I wouldnt mind DAP as much as I mind the my faves FW. i hope there will be Motos available from T-Mo w/o my faves, I've been due for an upgrade since August but nothing strikes my fancy, the last discounted phone I got was a V330 that I unlocked and ebayed. Maybe I'll get an MDA or BB Pearl and trade it for a Krzr...any takers?:smile:

Ha lol yeah they should know when you're going to upgrade and cooperate with Motorola and D&G to release the phone early enough before you upgrade that not everyone has it, but late enough that you can get a decent deal on it.

Hi, I got the D&G V3t... It's totally customizable. I removed DAP and seemed Sounds Player to perfection :) I removed the myFaves corolet, and deleted the folders from the /c drive only to free up space. I've got over 15MB free! Ringtones from TF works... btw myFAVES won't show up if you don't have a myFAVES rate plan, so you don't HAVE to remove it...
What else? Oh, the bad news. No EDGE :(
I haven't tried backing up the firmware as the software is R3443U5 and I'm not sure if I'll damage my phone with Flash Backup 3.

The skins are Glow, Alkali, and Disco. Comes with a 128 card and adapter, OEM Moto cable, and hands free earpiece, not headphones. Weird how the regular my faves V3 is also R3443, just thats ended with U2 as opposed to U5 on this one.
Unfortunately, my previous statement about no carrier branding was incorrect, theres a T-Mo brand and a My faves symbol on the battery door, and the typical branding in the FW. The earpiece gain is gonna need the same fix as the V3i, using the backup included with MotoKit to increase the volume as it at 8 out of the box. If success can be had removing my faves and changing DRMs and fonts, I may get one, I wanna keep the one I borrowed from work!:smile:

Thanks for the backup! My D&G V3i only came with a 64MB card :( But it's the same firmware R3443U5...

BTW you can use MotoMidMan to delete the myFAVES corolet. And just goto /c and delete the myFAVES folder. No biggie:)

What did you use to make the backup? FB3?

Yeah, FBU 3 worked fine. As far as DRMs go, I'll use this one as a test mule. Lemme DL a V3i DRM, I'll report back soon. I'll try a font too, screw it. Gimme a little bit....

AWESOME!! I'll back up my phone ASAP:) I've learned to manipulate the dnp.prf file to change my LP, so no messing with that. I f'd up my Cingular V3i with a bad LP. I hate flashing, but the stock DRM's gotta go! Let us know, please:)

I forgot to ask... did the date and time disappear from your screen? Mine are gone, and I can't get them back... It's kinda cool tho:)

Update:

Font - V3i Centery Gothic - Success! no errors
DRM - V3i Tempus IV - Success! with errors. Tested with the tempus because it includes SMS animations.
Somehow missing a main menu item,Get More. Flashed the lang pack back to OEM (with errors), still there. Reflashed the OEM DRM (again errors), its back.
No biggie, i always get rid of any carrier menus and branding when I get a phone, fixing the mma_ucp and installing either the Glow or Moto skins (complete with icons) should take care of that.
Friggin nice havin a test mule, no more testing for me though, I'll really keep this one! The FW is slow as hell though.

WAIT!!! From the msg menu, the phonebook entries werent visible! They are in the phonebook though. Dont know why, and I just wrapped it up. No biggie though, just make a LP and DRM anly backup in case of problems.
I think there is an all black DRM in the DL section here. If not here, somewhere, I know ive seen it.

Did your phone reboot when you tried to access the phonebook from Messages? If so, your contacts must be in List view and not Picture view:( I don't know why?!? But both my V3t and D&G do that :(

OK. I did it. I flashed the Sunray DRM to my phone. Whew! Was I scared... I had the same issue with the phonebook :( Had to go back to my stock DRM. Darn!
