Instructions to change the provider name (like “at&t”) on the home screen.

Programs needed:
OpEdit_v1.2
Mexplorer
V3re filecache patch for mexplorer(the patch allows you to see the root directory so you can obtain the plm text table file). Follow instructions for installing patch with mexplorer.
1st Open mexplorer and get the plm text table file off the root directory.
2nd Open OpEdit_v1.2 and edit/change anything that says “at&t” or what ever provider name is wanting to be changed. Then save.
3rd Put the edited plm text table file back on the phone. Just drag and drop in the root dir with mexplorer.
If provider text is not changed then download plm txt table file off the cell again and check to see if it was overwritten by the phone. If it was'nt overwritten, then that means you will have to do these seem edits.
Change these seems, make sure to do all 3 seem edits:
Offset 4B, bit 6 set to 0
Offset 02, bit 1 set to 0
Offset 40, bit 4 set to 0
With this seem edit you might have the text or voice mail icon staying on at the top of the home screen.
I can not guarantee you 100% that this modification is completely safe or will render no ill effects. What I post in my guides is in my own experience with my own phone and/or logical conclusions from information I’ve obtained in the past.
