Hello, I am brand new to this so please be gentle :)

I am trying to back up my t-mobile V3re (BL 0C.F4 sw R3442A_G_0E.43.25R Flex GSVV3xx06TMB01NA120) using F&B 3.0.6 and FlashBackup 2.6.2 and I get a critical error each time. I downloaded and installed 3.7.0 P2k Drivers before starting. If I use F&B 3.0.6 I get "critical error babc 5078" and it locks up. Using FB2.6.2 it I get "critical error dea1". I have tried two different windows xp computers and I still get the errors. Each program detected the each time I plug it in, and works fine with MPT 5.0.7a. Phone works fine after power down/up. Any suggestions?

You need to use FB3.07, otherwise you have to add the .prof and .ldr files manually to FB3.06. Those files sre in the sticky just above this thread.

Thanks, Dumba! I downloaded the F&B 3.0.7 this morning and it finally backed up w/o any errors. I read your sticky about a dozen times last night trying to see if I missed something, but I did not think the R3443U2 OA.52 profile/loader would work on R3442A OC.F4 because they are different versions for the V3re.

Now that it's working, Is there a difference in back-up file formats? Meaning is one format better to use than another?

Generally, it's best to use .shx format because you can use Motorola's RSD Lite (the tool they themselves use for flashing) to flash the back up onto your phone. Also there are several programs for manipulating .shx files (for future modding :)) and I'm not sure other formats work with all of the other programs.

Thank you, Danation. That's exactly what I wanted to know. I will now read the guide section *again* and stop with the newb questions. :D

Hey, no worries about asking questions. I've asked my fair shair of noob questions, and I'm sure I'll ask plenty more :)

The thing that makes this site so awesome is that people help each other, whether it's about a really technical mod or a simple question. So post any questions you have. I'm sure there are many of us that would be happy to help in any way we can.
